I hope I'm actually able to get one but I won't hold my breath. It was easier to buy human organs than a mini NES.

Staying with only 21 games and only swapping out games from the same publisher, here's what I would've changed:
Final Fantasy 3 out Chrono Trigger in. Mega Man X out Mega Man 7 in. Street Fighter II Turbo out Super Street Fighter II in. Castlevania IV out Castlevania: Dracula X in. Kirby's Dream Course out Uniracers in. Yoshi's Island out Super Mario All Stars in.

Shock these have been sold out and pre-orders are being scalped on Ebay. I have no faith in Nintendo at all to meet demand. It is honestly inexcusable, for all the money they make shareholders have to be wondering what the they are doing with this. Why announce it is only avaialbe until the end of the year and then make so few. It makes zero sense!!! Who wins by making so few? Nintendo? No, because they are leaving a ton of money on the table. The consumer? No, because if they want one they have to pay a scalper. Scalpers? Yes, they are the only people who win and they are scum. I love Nintendo, but they sure as hell make it hard to do. If I cannot get one of these I think I will just say it and finally get an everdrive for my SNES.

I read through comments on another site, and some were claiming the shortages on this and the previous NES were due to the system using a chip that's shared by several other companies. And it's the chip distributors fault that all this happened, since they can't meet demand. Though the same people making these claims also immediately defended Nintendo with comments that these systems were always meant to be limited runs, strictly for the holidays, so lord only knows what the real deal is. Much like the classic NES, this is something I'll gladly buy if I happen to come across it. But there's absolutely no way I'm jumping through hoops, or paying premium prices for it. So essentially, I'm pretty much 100% certain I'll miss out on this as well.

The thing this, this thing is awesome and should be something that is celebrated by the retro gaming community, but once again Nintendo fail to get their crap together and people miss out. My son was super excited to play Mario RPG on an actual Nintendo console (it was not released here in the UK) and this would have been a great way to do it. Now though, I am thinking screw it and I will just buy a repro cart for £20-30. So even Nintendo themselves loose out on this by not meeting the demand. Oh and Nintendo fan boys (which I consider myself to be) are the worst of the worst and will just blindly defend anything Nintendo do.

I'm surprised they left out NBA jam. No way would they be able to do NBA Jam due to licensing issues. They were able to do Tecmo Bowl for the NES Classic because they did not include NFL teams or logos and they removed player names and none of the pixels resembled any likeness of actual players.

I managed to get one.
In the UK can you can go into a Grainger Games and pay £20 deposit. It is a fiver more, but at least it is a way to get one. Their website is trash and the dude in the store said it has been since last Friday so not many people have been able to snap up the pre orders online. So if you have a Grainger Games in your town it is worth going and seeing if you can pre order in the store.

I live in the US but I like the design of the overseas SNES/Super Famicom console and controllers much better. Probably will get the US one too but really want the UK one.

I have always liked the look of our UK (and Japanese) SNES better than the American one, I think the controllers with the coloured buttons look better too. What is funny about that though, is that during the 16-bit wars. Sega fans would use that against Nintendo and say that all the coloured buttons made the SNES controller look like a kids toy lol. One thing the American SNES does have over the UK one (in my opinion) is the cartridges. I like the design and the fact yours have end lables on them, way better than our ones.

I remember all the early pics were nothing but the Japanese Famicom because it came out something like a year before the SNES was released here. Then when our SNES was revealed I was disappointed over the look, especially the controllers and all the purple. I bought an asciiPad and used that as my primary controller not because of the turbo functions but because of the colorful buttons. I do agree that our carts do look better.

Following the theme of this thread and knowing what 21 games are on it and considering the NES had 30 what 9 games would you add? I'll do 9 realistically using non licensed games made only by the publishers that are included in the SNES Classic and 9 fantasy.
Realistically: Mega Man 7 Mega Man X2 Mega Man X3 Chrono Trigger Castelvania: Dracua X DKC 2 DKC 3 Legend of the Mystical Ninja Final Fight Guy
Fantasy: TMNT: Turtles in Time Mortal Kombat II NBA Jam: CE NHL 94 Earthworm Jim Earthworm Jim 2 Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage WWF Raw Adventures of Batman & Robin

My biggest gripe is that they never put Super Mario All Stars & Super Mario World. I do not know how many of you know this, but that cartridge is super weird in that the Luigi sprite in Super Mario World is completly unique to that version of the game and has never been in any other Mario game, he spits fireballs and slides on his knees like a badass lol. I know they had the original Mario trilogy on the Mini NES, but they could have put All Stars on here. I also would have liked to have seen Final Fight 2. I say 2 over 1 or guy becasue it was two player and from a notstalgic point of view I playe dit a ton as a kid.
