Honestly since there are 2 titles now again because of this brand split the WWE Universal Championship (RAW) and the WWE World Championship (Smackdown Live) do you think CM Punk's 434 day title reign will ever be broken in this modern era? I mean Punk was Champion from Survivor Series 2011 to Royal Rumble 2013 a damn long time to stay champion so do you see any superstar on either roster from RAW or Smackdown Live bring able to break Punk's record?

Only guy who's popular enough to hold it that long without getting boring is AJ but it's basically confirmed he's losing it to Cena well before that

I would say AJ Styles as well but then Kevin Owens could break Punk's record

It's very likely.

I honestly can't see anyone doing it in the immediate future.
If Reigns had gotten over like they would've hoped? Yeah, I could've seen them give it to him. But with Ambrose and Cena being on SD, along with Bray and possibly Joe, Roode or Nakamura in the future? I think there's no way, unless they just leave it on AJ until next year. Which would be fine with me - especially if a newly brought in Joe/Roode/Nakamura were to uncrown him.

THE QUESTION: Honestly since there are 2 titles now again because of this brand split the WWE Universal Championship (RAW) and the WWE World Championship (Smackdown Live) do you think CM Punk's 434 day title reign will ever be broken in this modern era? THE ANSWER: Not by anyone on the current roster and that fact alone burns both Triple H and Vince McMahon on the inside knowing none of their current stars can have that lengthy of reign without it looking extremely petty and forced.

Most probably, I am surprised they haven't gotten broken the record already. They killed AJ Lee's record immediately after she left. Sadly the only reason that run ended was to give The Rock the title for the rematch. Wooooo WWE booking.

AJ is the only one who could realistically hold it as long as Punk without getting stale. We know that he's dropping it to Cena by WM, but I would love to see him retain against Cena and then Cena is drafted to Raw, having never gotten his win back...I can dream lol

I agree with most people if anybody is going to break it, it's going to be AJ Styles. Plus Vince is a huge fan of his so it's possible.

Not going to be rude at all, but.... I think Punks reign was not very memorable. He was talented yes. And I watched his matches with my (now 11) son, and they never really did a lot. He was there, but not the main focus. I remember his gear more then his matches and who he wrestled (Macho Man, Hit man, Yankees, Cubs...)

All fair points, which was one of his main gripes with the company.

People still act like it was the greatest run of the modern era. Problem is that he was always second fiddle to Cena and Rock throughout his reign. Hell, Big Johnny main evented a PPV over him. In the end, Punk's reign was a much longer version of Chris Benoit's where he was the champ but was never the main focus.

Pretty sure they do a longer run sooner or later but it may take a while to find someone dominant enough to make it convincing. Otherwise it would end up going like punks where the main focus was on others even though he had the belt.

Actually I think Chris Benoit's World Title reign was more of a main focus than Punk's. Benoit was in the main event with the World Title in 4 out of 5 PPV matches. Punk didn't even main event Wrestlemania!

I honestly don't see it happening anytime soon. As others have said above, I think AJ is probably the closest guy that would be able to pull it off without it getting extremely stale.
