Wrong guy won, but it makes sense as the current PROGRESS Champion isn't going to win the tournament and be the focal point of a WWE produced show/division.
Good for Tyler Bate, though.

So isn't everyone finally realizing that Michael Cole is DAMN GOOD at his job when Vince isn't in control? This and his showing at Beast in the East both show how damn good he can be. I wish we got his Michael Cole on TV every week. I've always said that Cole was good, but the people in his ear was the reason he wasnt good on RAW. I honestly never seen Beast in the East (I blame laziness for that), but these past two days I've enjoyed the hell out of Cole on commentary and he and Nigel were great together.

I actually agree, not cause Tyler Bate doesn't deserve it, but cause if they are going to have a show from the UK, they should have had a heel win to build that show around it

If Dunne wasn't the current champion, he'd have been the perfect way to end the tournament. Beating an injured Bate, then attacking him more after the match. Again though, he is the champion... so you knew he wasn't winning the tournament. I still think Dunne should've been taken out of the tournament at some point. That'd only make sense though, if he was gonna continually be used. Which we aren't sure if yet.

Not sure I like that Tommy End lost his first WWE match. Might have had Neville get rolled up for a quick pin. That way neither guy would lose momentum. I really think he's going to use the Tommy End name until he turns heel as Aleister Black. Face paint and all. Almost like a split personality and completely different persona.

I too wonder why superstars like Noam Dar, Neville and Gallagher aren't in this tournament given that they are all from UK

It's not as if Bate winning means they're locked into anything. He could lose the belt on the first show. The right story was told with the tournament. They can go anywhere from there.

I too wonder why superstars like Noam Dar, aren't in this tournament given that they are all from UK because they wanted the tournament to actually be GOOD as for the other guys....it was the same reason they didnt put Kalisto or Neville on the CWC. The point of these things is to showcase NEW talent, not guys who have already been on RAW for a year.

Feel like this tournament has just fallen flat. Like once the guy knows he's not winning he just quits trying. So they pay a bunch of veterans to job to a 19 and some baby Rhyno wanna be. If you don't like it, stop watching. He has no clue what he's talking about.

I think we will get a UK version of NXT at some point.
However Bates was announced as "Forever the United Kingdom Champion"
So I dunno.

Going off of how 205 Live isn't doing much since the CWC ended, I personally have no interest in a weekly UK show.
Invest time in signing the 2-4 standouts and call it a day.

I too wonder why superstars like Noam Dar, Neville and Gallagher aren't in this tournament given that they are all from UK I'm glad they weren't. I believe Danny Burch was the only WWE contracted talent involved. So I assume they were trying to sign unproven unknown (to American fans) talent. That added to the mystic IMO.

After being out all day, I'm finally sitting down to watch the second round. Here's my thoughts as I'm watching. First match was ok, but not great. It was mostly ruined by the ref counting to 9 during the outside brawl then stopping instead going to 10. It's bad enough when the ref doesn't start the count to give them time, but to stop at the end like that just makes everyone look bad. Glad Dunne won though. Rooting for Conners, but good match all the same, and Andrews winning made sense to keep it face/heel with Dunne. Plus, hearing Cole call the Stun Dog Millionaire was nice. Seeing Finlay is always good. Surprised Seven went out in the second round. Fun match, but I was expecting more from these two. Finally saw Wolfgang's Hogan tatoo... It's Suburban Commando! Radzi! I like when the ref walked up to Tyler Bate during his entrance it looked like Tyler was about to punch him before realizing who he was. Happy with this one. I really enjoy Bate's work. Still crazy he's only 19. Brookside in the crowd. Shame they didn't get Saint, Rocco, or some of the other older guys not already associated with WWE to hang around. Andrews with the gear change between rounds. I like it! They keep saying Dunne doesn't smile, but he smiles all the time, and they've even acknowledged those smiles. Even if they're not happy smiles, they still count! Now this is a match that lived up to my hopes. Dunne and Andrews work very well together. Dunne is my favorite in this whole thing. Wolfgang vs Bate could have gone a bit longer, but it was mostly good for what happened. I liked the subtle heel things Wolfgang did when the crowd sided with Bate. Not full heel, but some nice touches. Dunne being the best heel. Only downside is I don't like Regal shoving him around on the ramp if it doesn't lead to a match. We'll have to wait and see where that goes to completely judge though. Neville's complaining doesn't quite work when the fans agree with him. I wish he'd told them to stop. Cheap heat, sure, but it would have made sense. TOMMY END!!!!!! Odd he didn't use his new name. I expected something like they did with KENTA and Devitt where it morphed to the new one, but this is fine with me. It's so weird to hear Cole namedrop so many outside companies. Even PWG! That was an awesome match. I can't wait for End to make his NXT TV debut. And Neville is on a roll. You heard Finn was going to be here?! You showed him yesterday! Excellent main event. I was pulling for Dunne, but I have no complaints with Bate winning. He's really made a fan of me this weekend. I can't wait to see what they do with him as champ. I'm guessing they're going to let him defend on Rev Pro shows for now as a UK show doesn't seem like an immediate plan. Heck, if I was WWE, I'd consider using RevPro and ICW shows to have a weekly show instead of producing it from scratch. It helps all parties involved. Either way, that was an awesome weekend of wrestling and I can't wait to see more from these guys, however WWE does it.

The only gripe I have about the UK shows is how Finn Balor was sitting front row on Saturday for the event, and then his music hit on Sunday and Michael Cole was all like, "we heard rumours he was here, is he really here?!?!" Well... yeah. He was sitting front row on Saturday, and you even acknowledged him sitting in the crowd.

I thought the wrong guy won too, but it doesn't take anything away from it being a great tournament. I hope they can keep up this standard (...the wrestlers and the crowds!) for the weekly shows - should be fun.

Just now watching this..I don't see the appeal at all so far. I'm halfway through the first round (Just finished Dunne's match) and it's all seemed sloppy and uninspired at best. Only highlight has been Nigel on commentary.

Really enjoyed the two nights. I was away at Progress on Sunday, so just caught up. Balor and End were at Progress, so I was surprised to see them at WWEUK (Balor got a "Your just a crap Jordan Devlin chant").
I really enjoyed the tournament. I don't think it could have gone much better. Yeah, some of the guys were meh but overall the two nights were very enjoyable and sets the groundwork for a new brand. I thought about Bate being a dark horse but then thought nothing of it. I thought Dunne was lock on to get to the finals and am so glad they build him up as the alpha heel. It's so good seeing some of these guys from Attack in a WWE ring, unbelievable. I really enjoyed Mandrews/Dunne but the atmosphere for the finals was insane so that makes it the match of the tourney.
WWE really need to capitalise and announce the weekly shows.

Honestly though, how good was that Crowd. Pure footballing crowd that. Still think Bate is relatively green in terms of his emotion & character, but he can work a good Match and I'm not surprised they went with him considering his age and how they can groom him. It was refreshing to hear Cole on commentary for a change, could tell that he was genuinely entertained by that whole environment.
