I just finished watching Twin Peaks for the third time and still cant make my mind up whether its that good or rubbish lol.
I enjoyed it but it just melts my head at times which is why Im asking for others opinions on this show. Season 1 was great but season 2 just went off the rails. When the show first aired I believe the ratings went through the roof, but i really believe that was in anticipation that here was another murder mystery in a sleepy quiet town that audiences love to watch. I think as the show dragged on and it become more and more weird people lost interest. The whole black lodge thing was lost on me and the fact back then viewers had to wait a week between episodes it must of been a steep learning curve for trying to make sense of the show each week, I watched the episodes back to back and found it hard to follow at times so imagine having to wait a week between episodes.
Things I liked: I thought Ray Wise stole the show in every scene he was in, he was terrific as Leland Palmer and hilirious at times. Dale Cooper and sheriff Truman in their scenes together, Shelly was beautiful to look at, as crazy as her husband Leo was, i found him funny at times. Basically everything about season 1.
Things I didnt like: James storyline in season 2 with that girl he met at the bar...WTF? some of his acting was terrible at times, same with Lara Flynn Boyle who played Donna, I think she was more interested in trying to look beautiful in every scene rather than concentrating on acting. Benjamin Horne and his whole breakdown and his acting out the civil war fiasco, in fact his whole storyline trying to buy the Ghostwood estate was a bit of a drag. Windam Earle was a bit OTT and the whole black lodge thing went way over my head.
So what do people think about Twin Peaks on here?
I cant wait until season 3 btw.
