Sting enters the rumble as a surprise entrant and eliminates the Undertaker.
Setting up the biggest dream match in wrestling history.
Book it.

I would have spent any amount of cash to see Undertaker v. Cena with "The Streak" on the line. The intensity, drama, and downright uneasiness that match would have produced would have been unthinkable. Especially considering if the streak was still intact Undertaker would be 24-0.

You don't know how much longer Taker OR Cena are going to be wrestling, so Vince would be stupid to prevent that match from happening. If it doesn't happen THIS YEAR, it may NEVER happen.
Just like they should have done Taker/Sting at WM31 instead of HHH/Sting and Taker/Wyatt....both matches didn't need to happen.
Taker vs. Sting would have been a money match even if the match didn't live up to the hype. WWE has never even had Taker and Sting on screen at the same time. Fans are literally BEGGING for some sort of interaction between Taker and Sting, and Vince McMahon is like, "nah, I've got squash matches to book for Strowman and Reigns".

Vince is always doing this to fans though. I mean honestly WWE is not a legitimate sport, and the ratings are stagnant. Why not give the fans what they want? Taker v. Cena would draw so many casual and outside fans to watch it. I really hope this is fake because there hasn't been a Mania match that has felt like a Mania-Caliber mega match in years, thats makes you say "holy crap, I have to see this." I guess maybe the last one for me was the Rock v. Cena at Mania 28, or Michaels v. Taker at WM 25

Unfortunate. This is one of the last "dream matches" that can still realistically happen.

So an in his prime Sami Zayn and everyone else on the roster are basically going to look like absolute sh*t because they're going to have a somewhat out of shape 51 year old man beat Strowman..

Unfortunate. This is one of the last "dream matches" that can still realistically happen. Shawn Michaels vs AJ Styles can still happen but Michaels won't let it. A lot of matches can realistically still happen but Vince won't do it

Yes hopefully this means AJ is keeping the tile at Rumble.

Meltz' said that taker vs Cena isnoff the books and that Strowman vs Taker is just a red herring. What does that mean? Does that mean we're getting Taker vs Goldberg? Or maybe a brock rematch? Or AJ? Gonna g ahead and just call it now.....Baron Corbin v. Undertaker Interesting. Not Corbin and Cena?

Sounds like Taker/Reigns is a serious possibility. I still wouldn't rule out Taker/Cena, though.

Taker vs Corbin would be pretty cool, but not a big draw (yet, I have the feeling Corbin is about to take off, his entire package is just coming together nicely). Taker vs reigns would be horrible, not the match, just the program. Taker vs Strowman ..see above. Taker vs AJ would be fun As would taker vs balor, I just don't think Balor could carry the feud as his mic skills are pretty boring. Taker vs Cena would just be awesome, how many times have they actually wrestled or even interacted. The only time I can think of is Taker shaking his hand when he debuted.
Taker vs Goldberg would be cool. But we all know it would be horrible.
Takers last two matches against Wyatt and Shane have both sucked. Technically when Brock won that match sucked too, but wasn't UT knocked silly early in that match and the ending was the important part.
Also I think reigns may be taking on Goldberg at mania, as when the met on RAW they had their "poster / promo" stared own that was awkward, like the ones that the WWE has awkwardly pulled the past few years. Roman and HHH playing wussy tug o war with the belt last year ect.

If Undertaker isn't winning the Royal Rumble, I don't see the point in actually having him in the match then. He hasn't been in the Rumble match in like a decade. Why just use him for the sake of using him if it's not going to lead to him winning, or something else that's huge.
A random ass match against Reigns so Vince can stroke his own ego some more, or a match against a nobody like Baron Corbin, or to send him out there to make Stowman look good...sorry, waste of a rare Undertaker appearance.
If I was Undertaker, I'd just retire. They embarrassed him last year by making it look like Shane McMahon could almost beat him, and now if they promised him the Title and then pulled the plug.....Vince better be careful, because he's disrespecting the Undertaker and if I was Undertaker I would just say screw it, you need me more than I need to be here putting over your pet projects.

I hope it doesn't happen honestly. While the Streak was alive I wanted to see him and Cena wrestle, but now I have no interest at all in that match.

As someone who has never had interest in this match... YAY! Of course, that probably means Taker/Braun is on, so...
I actually like Braun, but Taker would be best served too have someone who can carry the match at this point, instead of being the one to carry it. The only question is, who is there outside of Finn? Maybe a debuting Joe? I've read Reigns/Taker is probably out, too, so there aren't a ton of ways they can go.

Let me ask a question. Why do all of you want this match and what on Earth is so special about it? John Cena has fought The Undertaker lots of times in the past so what is the big appeal with them fighting again? The only time that match would've been relevant is when the streak was still a thing but now it would be a waste of valuable time.
There are so many guys on the roster I would rather see Taker fight and what would either guy benefit from if they did have that match. Put him in the ring with AJ and that would be a 5 star fantasy match instead of something that would be a giant piss break.

If I was Undertaker, I'd tell Vince I'm skipping WrestleMania this year. There is no way he should waste his time in a match with Braun Strowman or Roman Reigns; both which would likely result in him putting either guy over.

Undertaker vs. AJ would be a far better match, but at this point I think most people are smart enough to realize that Vince isn't even considering that match as a possibility. The choices are basically Roman, Braun or Cena. And out of those three, Cena is the only match that would be even somewhat interesting.

If Taker wins the Rumble which is highly likely and AJ retains the title then that match would be a 90% possibility. I don't think Vince would have Taker fight for the flop that is the Universal title.
