I had a very serious addiction problem a few years ago. Almost killed me, but I beat it. Once I got better, I had (alot) of extra money but nothing to spend it on. Then I saw E22 Rock at Walmart, and thought, "Look at that little belt." Boom. I became obsessed. I've always loved wrestling. I always wished I could collect figures when I was younger. I LOVE hunting for them. That feeling of getting a fig or belt I don't have/need? My god, I can't describe it. I love displaying them, MOC or loose on my shelf. I love switching the belts around on my loose figs. This hobby saved my life.

I stopped watching wrestling in 2000 when I graduated college. I had so many toys growing up, almost everything except wrestling action figures. I had a son in 2010 and a few years later I bought wwe2k13 used. That turned into buying 2k14 new and playing a lot in front of my son. Then We started watching the wwe network together and it seemed about the right time for his first action figure. My choice as a father of what action figure line to introduce into my sons life as his first I randomly googled the one action figure I thought of quick as the one figure I would want most if I was to get one for myself.....I googled honky Tonk man....and it begun Now 3 years later I realize this hobby is much more for me than him because I keep buying and posting here and my son doesn't even play with his figures anymore

Childhood memories and I can relive it simply by looking at them. Bottom line, I love it and it's a physical time piece for me. Physical timepiece. I really like that. I love the continuity of professional wrestling. I can look at the WM 3 DM Hogan and remember what it felt like to be an 8 year old kid fearing that Andre the Giant might actually kill Hulk Hogan. I can look at a Doink figure and remember when I was in high school in '95 and wrestling sucked but I watched it anyway because I was a fan. Any NWO era WCW figure takes me back to the Monday night wars when I was in college and it was cool to be a wrestling fan. Pro wrestling provides a timeline for my life. The figures are just a physical manifestation of that timeline. Great question. Love this answer

I love wrestling. I've been drawn to it ever since I saw Hulk Hogan on Saturday mornings. I had a pretty good BCA collection when I was a kid and a couple of years ago I decided to stumble in to the toy aisle to see what figures looked like these days. Boy what a mistake, now I buy virtually every series that comes out. For me it's about what is being released and what awesome figures I'm adding to my collection. The hunt was awesome when I first started but now I'm pretty much a RSC user.

The constant running around lately for the Walmart exclusives has gotten me thinking why do I run around and spend all this money on these figures. Ive collected since the 80s and have 100s and 100s of figures. Wrestling,GI Joe, He Man, Marvel, and DC plus so may more. I will never stop and absolutely love it so it got me thinking why. Ive come up with these reasons: I still get excited when I see something new on the peg. It keeps me connected to my youth. I love wrestling way too much. Id be interested hearing why so many of us collect. I dont remember seeing any thread about this so if this is a duplication sorry. Same reasons as you.

Reminds me of being a kid again. I mainly get the classic guys I watched growing up, but will pick up a lot of the new guys & gals that have got me back into watching wrestling again

Because it is fun and I enjoy doing it. I am proud of my collection and if I wasn't,I would stop. I feel like I could be using my money better all the time, but I regret nothing.

Because I am a loser with some disposable income as I have no friends, never had a gf (unless you count the two imaginary ones) and I need something to do until I hang myself and end my worthless existence. Not funny 😐

When I find a figure I am looking for, or open a figure, I get a little piece of what it felt like to be a kid.

I've been a huge wrestling fan since I was 5 years old. I'm 36 now.
I work long hours, have been dating the same girl for 9 years, so escapism is also part of that.
Hunting is fun. I enjoy heading out and looking for things. It's something I do alone too so that's nice sometimes too.
I also use it as a bit of creative outlet/hobby with taking pics, posing, and running my Instagram account. It's a lot of fun.

I never stopped buying toys. Most kids stop buying toys around 12-13. Not me. I've continued collecting much after that, and I will never stop. Also, collecting reminds me of my youth, and all the fun times I had as a kid. So, there's that reason as well. Same. All my friends stopped collecting and watching, but I just couldn't. It's my own hobby.

Because the more I think about how my body will not comply with my desire to actually wrestle, the more I long for death. Being able to use my figures to actualize my desired match ideas in some form helps me go on.
