I find little plastic people easier to deal with and more enjoyable than full sized organic ones.

I needed something else to waste my money on other than beer. It's nice to have a collection, the feeling of putting it all together and the memories of all the hunts and where you got so and so figure. It's just a fun hobby that keeps me out of trouble.

For me the buzz of seeing new figures is still there, the thrill of the hunt is still there and I fell back in love with the product. I stopped collecting more or less after Jakks lost the license and Mattel took over (bought a few at the start like Elite 2 Orton and Elite 3 Christian) but after picking it up again in late 2015, it helps me separate from the real world and feel like a kid again in a way

For me it's nostalgia. As a kid, my friends and I spent hours playing with Hasbro and later BCA figures.
I was walking through Target grabbing some groceries this summer and walked past the WM Heritage Razor figure and did a double take. I was really impressed by how detailed and to realistic the figure looked. I debated back and forth for a few days whether to buy it (cause you know...what is a grown man supposed to do with an action figure?) before pulling the trigger. And what good is just one wrestling figure? I stopped by Wal Mart later that day and saw the TNF Undertaker. From there I was hooked. I started buying figures for the first time in two decades, and watching wrestling again for the first time in almost as long.
I love that Mattel has put out more detailed, realistic versions of figures that defined my childhood. And tracking down the figures brings back memories of going around with my parents from store to store trying to find the newest figures or find that one wrestler I could never find. The fact that I have figures of Hogan, Austin, Sting, etc all in the same style and scale brings out the way too excited kid in me.

I was hooked in 1984-85, with awa remco and ljns (my 2 first figs were piper and jyd), i bought all the ljns when i was young, then hasbros for a while... at 18, i stopped because i wanted to be an adult, but when insaw the bca jakks in 97, i was hooked again. Got a wife, a daughter, butni was still buying jakks figs. And then divorce, so i was ever more on buying mattel figs. I have 42 now, and im still playing with my figs, i love creating shows, and storylines, i have a lot of federations : wwf 84-86, nwa 84-86, wwf 87-89, nwa 87-89 , wwf 90 -92 , till today, every fed has 3 years. I have all different figs till the beginning of ljns. So i can use sd jones as a ljns with a rocky johnson from jakks and a bruno sammartino from mattel in the same league. Its my hideaway, im in my world, i forget problems when im playing and collecting and read your stuff on the board guys. Last year i learned that i have a terminated cancer , i will die within 2 years, so i cant do , i was used to do, im sick, i dont work anymore, i cant have a relationship with a womam now, so my wrestling buddies let me forget all of my problems , and im happy when im buying figs amd playing with them. Im sorry if my english is not perfect because im a quebecer from canada, still wishing that they will release a dino bravo figure !

I think I collect more out of habit than anything these days. Wrestling figures have always been part of my life. My brother had LJN's in the house from the day I was born and I have just always collected them.

Great topic!
I collect for nostalgia purposes and because I never had a real collection as a child (only owned a few LJN's & hasbros). These Mattel figures are another opportunity (albeit in adulthood) to FINALLY have my very own wrestling figure collection. These figs bring me back to my childhood and remind me of something that brought me joy- watching wrestling Saturday afternoons. I am not even sure how I got into wrestling, no one in my family or friends like wrestling- I ran across WWF superstars one Saturday afternoon and I was hooked!
Also, I use this hobby as a stress reliever, help me forget my problems (at least for a bit). I wish collecting was a bit easier here in Canada but it is what it is- grateful that the Internet exists otherwise my collection wouldn't be as big as it is.
