Not sure what that means or if it was directed at me, but I'm not Haunted. I'm MWFD - been here a while now.
Remember the user Haunted who was around last week whose posts you were pretty fond of? You should know that he seemed to be here a while as well because he took a liking to you. He took such a liking that I think he wanted to be just like you.
If I take things he did, and things you do and mix then them up, its really hard to tell who is who. And its odd, because reading Haunted's posts, they read like an article or YouTube video.
Who needlessly added ... in their thread title better...?"
As great as HOF line was, what a waste Series 4 is..."
"
To anyone with an IKEA Detolf cabinet..."
"
When you start getting down on Mattel, Never Forget..."
"
I just don't get Mattel's logic with their opening lineups.."
"
I'm working on a new WhatCulture article about bad figures.."
Who used no doubt better?"Owen was a great in-ring worker, no doubt, and from all accounts, an even better human being and husband/father/friend."
"I see him demanded all the time. Don't get me wrong. He deserves a figure no doubt."
Who used parenthesis to add a secondary thought in the middle of a sentence better?"For the first lineup of a WWE legends series, Mattel chose 4 superstars who had arguably (and in some cases inarguably) better careers outside the WWF/WWE than in it."
"There is no reason in hell for the Wild Samoans to be series 1 (or any series until the line has taken off) of an Elite Tag series that has failed in that format twice before."
"As a kid, I collected WWF Hasbros, JustToys BendEms (during those awkward years when WWF was considered a dead brand and was "in-between" toy partnerships), as well as the first several series of Jakks with Bone Crunching Action, but stopped around 1998."
"We finally got another crack at Elite Tag Teams. And their first choice is NOD Rock and Farooq? Really? Two figures no one asked for (or one of the most fringe requests ever)."
Who is talking here?"I'm including this one to illustrate the impact that a good set of character and attire choices can have on a line. In my opinion, this was the best initial lineup Mattel has done. Is it any coincidence then that the series not only still exists, over 2 years later, but has expanded to include 4-packs and 2-packs? No, it isn't. Despite some shelf-warming individual figures and some questionable shipping schedules, the Target-exclusive Hall Of Fame series remains one of the most popular of Mattel's entire WWE lineup and it was boosted out the gate thanks to a solid roadmap."
"Overall, I just feel like Mattel starts up these awesome lines only to crap on any opening momentum with poor choices. I know people are going to be butthurt about what I'm saying, but this thread isn't about just mindlessly trashing Mattel. It's a discussion. I love their figures. But I just don't understand why they think a line is going to be really successful if they keep opening up with crappy/obscure lineups. Yet, I really want to know if maybe their sales are better than what they appear? I mean, I feel like the fact that several of the lines I mentioned above are already cancelled kind of speaks for itself. But maybe there's more to the story that I'm not seeing."
Which would make this banter back and forth hilarious because even though Haunted loved to argue, he did have sympathizers, but why did he single you out to go the extra distance to make sure he stated he enjoyed you & your post even though other people liked his thoughts just the same?
Haunted to MWFD: "You are the first person in this thread who loves old school (judging by your sig) and actually understood what I'm saying. You didn't take offense or see my thoughts as some kind of reflection of my own feelings and/or disrespect towards those wrestlers. That's pretty refreshing on a forum where so many of its members are incredibly myopic."
MWFD to Haunted: "Thanks, Haunted.
Yes, I do love old school wrestling and figures. In fact, it's all I collect. I do not own one action figure of a current or modern WWE superstar."
He also made mention that a specific user, PJ, was a Mattel apologist. He was only around for several days, how could he know the behavior of someone that well to fire it off that quick, unless it was a user who was here for a while? You have a fantastic and beautiful collection, but they were looking at buying some IKEA cabinets for theirs to spruce up their collection, I think he's trying to outdo you being you.
Bottom line, Haunted made some great talking points and was well spoken and articulated, you make great talking points and are well spoken and articulated. It would be great to have more of that around, without the belligerence and jumping to petty insults so quickly that I've seen you do and Haunted loved to do.
