Completely custom wrestling ring - 3D Printed kit

all this is awesome bro, something i came up w myself years back but never thought about a 3d printer.. if u made these id def be interested in not just seeing everything u have plans for but also buying from u if ud print them out aswell. very kool man!

This is what I designed for my truss system. Its all modular. Has a 6" Main truss section, a simple base(that I'll probably add more of a plate to), a 2way connector, and the 6 way transition. I'll update you guys tomorrow when I see how much it'll cost to print. I'm also trying to get a website up and running in the next couple days and come up with a good plan of attack on how to make my stuff available to you guys.

That would be entirely up to you. That picture shows 2 trusses stacked(per side) to make roughly 13 inches from bottom to top, same across. Your only limit is how you want to build it. For a small Indy fed you'd probably just need what's in the picture if you want what you shared before.

I removed the snopes bit 'cause I noticed you were a UK'er, and I know how blurry the line between tabloid/news is over there. I'm not taking a side on what went on, but using well know tabloid sites (IBT, WN) was probably a decision you made on purpose. So why tell you to use snopes when you obviously go out of your way to find sites that feed into your confirmation bias... lol But we all do that! So who care, y'know?

Hey guys, thought I'd throw in an update on all of this. Shortly after posting all of this I bought a 3d printer(a cheap one) and had nothing but technical problems trying to print anything. Around July or so I got a CR-10 3D Printer(medium priced printer) that had a 20"x20" build platform because I wanted to do bigger flexibeam style rings so it wasn't a kit like ring to put together, but the problems of big 3d printers reared its ugly head in that bigger isn't always better and it lacked features that would make it print reliably. Any ambient room temperature changes or a door opening would cause pieces to unstick and cause failures and the bed would never stay level. I've scrapped the idea of trying to sell the parts as there's just not enough people with 3d printers who love wrestling. So what I'm going to do, hopefully around the end of January to sometime in February, once Christmas has been paid off on the ole credit card, is I'm going to buy another 3d printer. My wife isn't a big fan of the decision, but my heart is still in creating awesome things. But I'm going to get a good printer. Failure is the greatest teacher, and I think I've learned a thing or 2 about 3d printing over the last couple years to know what works and what doesn't, what makes a reliable printer. I'm going to invest 2k into a great workhorse printer that I already have my eye on. It would still be kit style rings like I originally posted pictures of, but I'm going to print rubber for the ring mat and the ropes, as well as the turnbuckle pads that I've already had. I'm not a good "seamster" by any means, and not having nylon ropes I think will make it look more professional. The rings would still have to be 16" though, which is the trade off, but that's just due to the technical restrictions of the technology at the current moment. The affordable bigger printers lack the 'auto bed levelling' and heated enclosure features, and the big printers that have them cost around $7,000.

I'll probably start with just that basic ring and take it from there if people are still interested. This time last year I just didn't have the money to fully invest in the hobby and I didn't want to pay someone else to print the rings, just to cause an unnecessary mark-up in price to sell it to you guys. There's too many people opening up 3d printing hubs and unfortunately its driving prices up for the service instead of down, so I'll be better off, and who ever buys the rings from me will be better off, if I just print them because I don't want to charge more than what the ESR are going for. The shipping will probably suck, most likely around the $20 mark if I can maximise on space for a box.

Oh and for BADMON the turnbuckles I was using before was curtain rod wire cut into 1" segments and screw eyes. It gets the job done and looks pretty decent. If I move out of this apartment and into a house with a garage I might try and manufacture something that looks a bit closer to real life using 1/8" round aluminium bar, a chop saw and a drill press. The screw eyes work the best for the actual hooks, you just have to get the right size and buy from China, because the hardware stores will sell 8 of them for over $2 when you can get 100's for around the same price.

Those look awesome! I’ve been looking for a toy truss system to set up a lighting rig, might have to inquire more about these soon. Also looking to get into 3D printing, and possibly making my own heads and body parts for customs. Do you have a recommendation for a good printer that would do the job at a decent level of quality? Or is it more about the plastic/printing material used?one where the layers aren’t so visible?
