So I've been wondering who you guys would say is the best manufactor of wwe/f figures. The three choices are Hasbro, Jakks Specific, or Mattel.

Hasbro & LJN was awesome when I was a kid, jakks had a great run but fizzled out near the end. Now it's all about Mattel & the great detail & accessories. My vote is for Mattel....hands down!

No contest, it is Mattel. Hasbro were great toys, but not the best likenesses.
Jakks was very hit or miss for me, mostly miss.
Mattel to me combines the best elements of a toy and collectible, which is a difficult balance to strike.

Hasbro for life. I dig Mattel but they're boring in comparison to the golden era of wrestling toys. Glad they're bringing back the style.

I'm 35 years old, and have seen all three manufacturers products over the years. I had a bunch of Hasbros in my youth, but played with them. To me, only some Jakks figs looked good. Not many, though. I started collecting 3 years ago, with Mattels. As previously stated, they strike the perfect balance between toy and collectible. Mattel all the way.

I don't really have any nostalgia for Hasbros as I was a senior in high school when those came out.
Jakks never really appealed to me for the most part. Never really considered collecting them.
That leaves us with Mattel. The first Mattel figs I saw in an ad were the Legends Black Shoulder pads Road Warriors. They looked awesome as that was my favorite look of theirs. That's when I decided to start collecting the guys I was a big fan of. Really dig the detail on the Elites. So for me Mattel pretty easily.

My nostalgia is with Hasbro, but the best figures are by far the Mattel ones. Not even a contest. Most toys now are infinitely better than their equivalents 20-30 years ago, the technology evolves and they build on the successes of the past.

You cant really compare. Manufacturing figures today is drastically different than manufacturing them in the 80s and 90s.

I voted Wicked Cool Toys...in my heart. Because they weren't an option anywhere else. Good job posting the poll ON THE MATTEL BOARD. We'll surely get the most unbiased results here.

I bought some good condition hasbro figures at the flea-market , I feel bad some of you guys grew up with those things, but I guess nostalgia blinds people , but anyhow, Jakks were great for the time , but mattel is down-right the best , they havesupreme sculpts, headscans ,and they have great accessories.

You're posting this on the Mattel board. Wonder what kind of results you're gonna get.

I agree with what others have said about comparisons between now and the mid 80's - early 90's production potential not being fair. However, I feel that each line has its positives. I came in toward the end of LJN, did the first series of Hasbro, and collected Jakks, and later Mattel when my kid was old enough to appreciate them. So here is how I see it:
LJN: Fantastic at showcasing the characters from the Rock N' Wrestling cartoon. Figures were easy to find at multiple retailers. Commercials were good, and they GAVE US THE MANAGERS. Huge plus right there.
Hasbro: Fun and affordable. Loved the packaging and artwork, great ring. Covered a lot of characters well.
Jakks: Did a great job bringing back the old school wrestlers, many of which had felt lost throughout the nWo and Attitude eras. It was great to see those characters again. Awesome getting old school midcarders and so many names. Outlaw Ron Bass, Superstar Billy Graham, Jesse Ventura, Mr. Fuji, Don Muraco, Greg Valentine.... I could go on and on, so could you.
Mattel: High quality products for the most part. My only wish is that they would crank out a few more different names from the past. I would take that over having 15 variations of the same guy.

I love my Hasbros, but they had no flashbacks and missed a lot of good attires and wrestlers from their own era, not to mention they couldn't make any WCW figures. So I vote Mattel because of their eclectic roster of figures.

Why would you feel bad for those of us who grew up with Hasbro figures? They were (like you said about Jakks) great for the time. That's what toys were in the 80's. I'd say kids who have grown up on collector level figures have been spoiled. Where are you going to go from here?
