Mick Foley recently appeared on Lilian Garcia's podcast. During the interview, Foley brought up an incident where Vince McMahon yelled at Braun Strowman:
"I was about to go out there a couple weeks ago, and I heard Braun Strowman say, I want a title shot. Mr. McMahon's behind the curtain, at the board watching the monitor, and he goes, oh god, it's not a title shot. I was thinking to myself, then what is it? That's exactly what I would go to call it when I would go out there. You want a title shot? He's like, it's a title match. It's a match! So if you ever wonder what it's like to see a six-foot-eight, three hundred pound behemoth get chewed out, you should've been there."

I'm guessing "title" is one of Vince's taboo words I'm pretty sure it was because he said "title shot" instead of "title match". It's kind of like how he likes them to say "championship" instead of "belt". |

I was listening to the maker of the XFL documentary on Sam Roberts and Jim Nortons show, and one of them brought up, they believe Vince is in the very early stages of dementia.

I think we're all missing the real shocker here Lilian Garcia Has a Podcast!? she does since November i believe. The interviews are really good and so far Brie Bella, Torrie Wilson, Trish Stratus, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Bayley and Mickie James have been on. I really like the interviews because the wrestlers talk about their upbringing and early stages of their career and you really find out information you never knew like Mickie James saying she was molested at a young age or Bayley talking about her parents' divorce at 8 years old so i suggest you give a shot. |

Anyway, I think Vince should really step away, at this point he is doing more bad than good to the product. As someone above mentionned, I believe he is not far from dementia...

It wouldn't surprise me if Vince McMahon has enough brain damage to conform such theory. In regards to Braun Strowman's promo when he said shot instead of match or opportunity, I caught that when he said it. My reaction was uh oh, he said a word he wasn't supposed to say. Hell, Micheal Cole referred WrestleMania as "The Granddaddy of Them All" on this past Monday's RAW. Side note: having met Charlie Ebersol, he is one cool dude. |

We've known for years that Vince, and corporate, have very specific terminology they like to use and present to the audience. This is the business side of WWE. Every fortunate 500 company on Earth has similar standards when they put out a press release or have an employee represent them in the public eye.
If you want to complain about WWE taking themselves too seriously, as far as a "normal" publicly traded company, I'd agree there is a ton of conversation to be had. However, WWE controlling their brand as they see fit is just normal operating procedure. I don't know why any of this stuff shocks people at this point. It's no different than Target making their employees wear red shirts. It's a particular brand image that has been created and approved by an army of executives.
If you want more rigged, traditional, wrestling terminology and an overall looser show, go watch stuff like ROH or NJPW. WWE is a corporate machine and this kind of stuff is always going to be a part of the experience.
