Sounds to me like Randy Orton last night forfeited his spot in the main event at Wrestlemania. There is a precedent when Mr McMahon gave up his spot in 1999 and Commissioner HBK cited the rule where if the Royal Rumble winner can not fulfill their obligation then the main event spot goes to the runner up which was Stone Cold. So since Roman Reigns was the runner up, does that mean he is in the main event?

Orton vs Wyatt will definitely happen at Mania. They have plenty of time to build it up.

He never flat out stated though that he's not using the title shot. Plus as if the past matters. That was a one time rule for storyline

I'm pretty sure Orton and Wyatt is still going to happen and that the battle royal is just a temporary diversion/red-herring.
I'm also pretty sure Orton and Wyatt are not going to main event Wrestlemania.
I'd say Lesnar/Goldberg and Taker/Reigns have about equal odds of closing the show right now.

Give it to Baron Corbin for being a hero

Probably a Triple Threat with Orton/Harper/Wyatt or something is likely what we'll get. Or simply Orton/Wyatt for whatever reason Orton swerves and changes his mind.

i'm not too concerned with who main events wrestlemania. with rollins out, my real question for wrestlemania is what triple h's role will be.

Roman Reigns is probably main eventing anyway. Him beating Taker and then Taker will probably kneel down and salute him because Vince McMahon thinks Roman beating Taker and Taker showing his "respect/approval" for Roman will get the fans to like Roman....instead it's going to back fire and make Roman even more hated.
Either Taker/Reigns or Goldberg/Lesnar is going on last.
Bray Wyatt is not a household name and in no way shape or form will be the last match on a WrestleMania card. With there being two world titles again, Bray Wyatt might actually go on FIRST like the WHC always used to get the bastard stepchild treatment.

They can't even remember what happened a month ago on TV. You really think they're going to remember a storyline from 1999?

Orton vs Wyatt isn't closing the show. If they add one or both of Cena/Styles, it enters the conversation. At this point, I think Goldberg vs Brock for the Title closes Mania and that's really the only option. It's too much pressure on Taker to over deliver at this point if he goes on last. He hasn't had a truly great match since WM29. Unless they have a Reigns heel turn planned, I don't see Taker/Reigns main eventing the show either.
I'm totally in favor of someone other than Randy going after Wyatt, and even Randy going after Goldberg/Brock, but I think this is all just storytelling to land us right back at Orton vs Bray for the title, which is meh.

They tried the same thing with Roman but used Daniel Bryan instead. I'm certain they tried to do the same thing to Roman using AJ. Vince is truly delusional at times. It's not a credibility factor. roman looks the part. It's a "there are literally so many wrestlers that the fans feel have paid their dues that deserve Roman's spot" factor. He can beat the entire roster, and the entire roster can say he's the guy, but the fans don't want it because it's forced.

I see no scenario where this will benefit Reigns.
But now that I think about it, I would love to see AJ win next week. Setting up an AJ face turn. Bray gets worried and has Orton reclaim his title spot. Bryan makes it a triple threat at WM. AJ vs Wyatt vs Orton sounds far more entertaining than just Orton vs Bray.

I have ZERO interest in an Orton/Bray match for the title. This entire Orton in the Wyatt family story has been confusing as is. I thought he only joined in order to destroy it from within. But they have teased NOTHING.

I can't believe WWE is really giving us Goldberg vs. Lesnar as the main event, a 2-min main event match is going to cause a lot of hatred towards WWE.

As others have said, Orton "giving up his WrestleMania match" is just a red herring for the storyline. We'll definitely still be getting a match involving Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt for the title. Whether that's still one on one, or just not the main event, is still unknown.
