Does that dude's real first name start with a D? Yep That dude is a trip. Saw him trying to peddle some dollar store garbage for 40 or 50 bucks. I think I just saw he started a group that seems to be about sending him free figures so he can customized them or something. In other words, he just wants some free figures.

He was just recently looking for older dm figures. People gave him reasonable prices and he tried to chew them down.

So let me ask a question. If you buy something in a shop to sell online does that make you a scalper? I've done it in the past and I guess that makes me one.

It's just a term that most people apply to just about anyone who isn't selling their stuff for dirt cheap. Being a bit older and having been around the toy scene in the 90s, my definition of a toy scalper will always start and end with the guys grab everything of any possible resale value off the store shelves right after they're put on there. With the intent of reselling of course. The guy that boots mentioned buying all the Finn Balor figures is a good example. A guy who buys a couple of the same figure with the idea of selling one to help pay for the one he's going to keep isn't a scalper to me. He's just trying to make his hobby a little more financially manageable.

I hate the term scalper. Shouldn't really be applied to some bloke down a mall with a stall

I wouldn't have batted an eye seeing it for $25, I would have bought it instantly.

I have an idea of what I'll pay for any given thing, so if I see something I want that falls into that price range, I don't care if the seller got it for $20 or $2.

I hate the term scalper. Shouldn't really be applied to some bloke down a mall with a stall Ringside are 100% in the same category as a guy that buys a case of network exclusives and then doubles the price (shipping not included) Could call it "helping overseas customers" but its just gouging. That brings up another wrinkle, I don't consider people who buy their stock wholesale directly from the manufacturer as scalpers. They can buy all they want and charge all they want, it doesn't affect me because I can go elsewhere to buy these things. But when the dudes from around here go around buying all the desirable figures from the local physical shops like Target or TRU, and then I see the same figures being sold at the local comic shops and swap meets for twice the price, then I get annoyed.
