I was ready to reply with this when I saw people in multiple threads saying, "There's no way he would be a DM! He's so simple" DM no longer means higher quality than Elite it just means whatever they want it to mean these days lmao. They'll throw in the WCW title on a current day Goldberg and GG, $25 Were DM figures at some point supposed to be "higher quality"? I'm not sure what that means though, because the figures are made of the same materials, are probably even assembled and painted by the same Chinese factory workers, include about the same amount of accessories as a fig from the Elite series, use the same parts...etc. Why are they $5 more expensive? If the extra cost is really because of the packaging, then that's...lame. I just toss the packages into a landfill like 90% of the world lol Have you seen any of the DMs from the first run?

It should be a DM Tbh And the Wcw Should be one two Why would you want it as a DM? Don't they cost more than the regular Elite figures? Yes they do cost more. About $5 more to be exact

I disagree. The budget is in the figure, while yes the packaging may cost (a little) more, it is not the reason orcause of the additional retail price. Whether you disagree or not it doesn't matter MDT confirmed it. I agree it shouldn't, but it does. I don't remember MDT confirming that the (additional costs) budget for DM is because of the packaging. Sure a little of it, but the whole thing???, happy to be wrong just point me in the direction of the confirmation.

In theory yeah, but when was the last DM that had anything that wouldn't come with a regular elite? I guess the recent Flair with his robe, but I mean most in the last year haven't come with Jack. Hogan- belt and shirt Razor- belt and vest Warrior- Sunglasses GAB Sting- rubber coat Cena- shirt and chains Undertaker- robe Austin- 3 repacked belts Nakamura- shirt and jacket I'll give them Flair and Crow Sting for nice soft goods. My point is the DM line isn't about anything anymore but packaging and a little story. The new Macho is AWESOME though. Back on track with Goldberg. They probably aren't doing a WCW US Title, so if they did a DM it'd be what the big gold and maybe a t-shirt for no reason? I mean Warrior just came with shades so it could just be a belt really. Maybe a door for him lol. Or fake sparks? I see your point, but I think of the figures more as a set. If the budget is for 12 months (4 DM) then the only way we get Flair and the upcoming Savage (soft goods - high end figures) is by the others being little more (if anything) then the Elite line. Hulk, Razor, Sting were all first time in line. GAB Sting had lots of deco hits as did Warrior. But I see your point, I just think it's wrong to say the retail price is only related to the boxing of the figure. Which is what I got from your first post. But we can agree to disagree. Either way, still happy with the figures they are putting out.

Anyway, I'm fine with them being $25 because then a regular Elite will hit with tons of accessories and be $20, then a box set will be on sale for 4 Elites for $25 etc. It all balances out to me, I just feel the DM line has no real reason to be more money considering how random things are these days. I don't know where the budget goes lol. I also kinda don't care, we're still buying this junk in most cases.

I'm going to guess that some of the DM budget is because it costs more to sign those top guys like Hogan, Sting, Goldberg etc maybe? Not saying that's the reason at all but maybe on their initial figures they need to make a bit more off them.

Sucks that's he's included with the ring only. Not trying to just buy a ring for just a figure. Lol
Hopefully Mattel does a DM retro Goldberg down the line. It's a simple figure so they have to brainstorm to make it a Definging moment.

Man, I hope that is not the only way to get current Goldberg. As an MOC collector I have little to no use of a ring.
