Hey people, haven't seen a thread on the new Saw film yet, so I thought i'd post about it. Anyway, I went to see this last night with a few mates (i'm 17.. getting into a 18 film omg ), but anyway if your a fan of the previous films, you'll not be disappointed. The film doesn't disappoint in the whole 'sick & twisted' feel to it. But out of all of the previous films, I found this pretty hard to watch due to the Gore Factor (for example, seeing someone ripping stitches out of their mouth right at the beginning whilst eating popcorn does put you off ). Cetain parts a couldn't watch simply because it went a little bit OTT... but the whole cinema got into it so I guess that's a good thing right? Anyway, unlike the other films... the acting is a lot better & the twists in the film caught me off guard... I was pretty shocked with the ending too. So if you haven't seen it already... go and see it just in time for Halloween, it's a well written film & not your average horror film. 8/10.Lew! x.

I am a huge Saw fan - and i wasn't disappointed! You really do have to have seen the other Saw films for this one to make sense, especially Saw 3. I have heard a few people saying that they don't understand it, and without spoilers, they don't get what the twist is - but its more a film for Saw fans, not a one-off film that can stand alone, its simply another chapter in an ever-growing story. Loved it, and would recommend to Saw fans!

Never seen any of them, but I hear they're all ****e. not entirely true...the 1st is easily the best of the lot of them, with the twist at the end on par with the twist in fight club...they have gradually got worse thou... ----- i'll try and see this at the cinema...it wont be the end of the world if i dont thou...

The first is no way the best. The acting is absolutely dreadful from the two main characters, and the part time characters arent much better either. In my opinion, saw 2 was the best, it was very well written, and the acting was good all the way through. I have seen Saw 3 partially, but was doing other things at the time, so i didnt fully concentrate on it.

I watched the film last night and in my opinion it will only be worth watching for the fans of the previous Saw films. If you liked the third one its more of the same really.
The first one was only good because of the twist and at the time it was a new and original concept. The second one had a good story and was a better quality of film. The third installment was a cash in with pumped up gore for shock factor, and to me the fourth one has tried to hard to fit into the timeline of the third one. If they had pre-planned the story franchise of three and four (they were both green lit around the same time) to fit together from Saw 3, then 4 wouldnt of had to explain the story so much (which is what hinders the film the most in my opinion).
Also I've noticed how un-fased I've become to gore by the fact I found the extreme sequences f'n hilarious.
