Sorry but Ultimate Warrior and his big phony award. The guy shat on WWE for a decade and a half, and abused his body with steroids and other drugs. He essentially dug his own grave and there's no reason that anyone should have sympathy for he or his family. This entire award is bogus and it's just WWE's way of getting good public relations.

Eric Legrand is awesome and hopefully gets a huge donation from the E for spinal chord research
That said, he is an African American paraplegic getting an award named after a man who has made very racist remarks, and disparaged the handicapped. Its a bit weird to say the least.

While it's a nice gesture, I wish they would give the award to people that actually have something to do with WWE and wrestling. Much like the black history month stuff last year, they 'honoured' black people that had absolutely nothing to do with wrestling. Surely they could've celebrated people such as Ron Simmons, Tony Atlas and Jacqueline. I don't get it.

Cool, I guess, if you can 1. forget about the kind of person Ultimate Warrior actually was, and 2. ignore what he actually wanted this award to be. First part is a little harsh, it's not like he's Snuka or Benoit... Second part is spot on though.

Yeah those two girls who lost their father at such a young age, how dare anybody feel sorry for them.

The guy said a lot of horrible things about a lot of people with no regard, and never made an effort to retract his statements or apologize to anyone. I feel for his wife and his children, but I have an issue with WWE glorifying him the way that they have.

Yes, Warrior said some hateful things, but a person doesn't need to defend Warrior's morality (or lack thereof) to feel sympathy for his wife and daughters.

What exactly is the point of this "award"? For the WWE to just honor anybody they want who can generate them the most publicity and media attention? I'm asking this question sincerely, too. I have nothing against Eric LeGrand; I have a tremendous amount of respect for what he's overcome, and I graduated from the same school and program he did. I just think this award is nothing more than a cheap way for the WWE to get their name in the media. A serious question deserves a serious answer. So...yes, that is exactly what it's being used for. Since the HOF ceremony is literally just an attaboy for people who have remained in Vince's good grace, this award would have been perfect to be used as exactly what Warrior intended it to be used for. A way to get behind the scenes people some recognition. What did the forward thinking white knights from Titan Tower do instead? They added 2+2 and got 22! Hey it's a "WARRIOR" award...so why don't we give it to some random person who have overcome some tragedy in a public ceremony that has nothing to do with the business.
