So the other day I was at Walmart and I was thinking about the new Mattel Retro Taker and Ultimate Warriors most of us have been waiting for. So when I hit the figure section I notice full pegs of the first 4 in the series and it's like this at pretty much ALL my local Walmarts currently. At first they really seemed to be flying off the shelves, but since they were all stocked heavily it seems like none of them are moving any longer. That leads me to this post. So I'm wondering if it's like this where everyone else is, or if this is exclusive to my area. Because if it's like this everywhere then I'm thinking these aren't good sellers whatsoever. I actually hope I'm wrong about it but I was curious enough to ask on here to see what the deal was elsewhere. My guess is that collectors and people nostalgic for the Hasbros are buying these up, but I'm thinking most kids are skipping them in favor of the basics and elites that they already buy. Not to mention Mutants and Zombies as well.

They seem to move slowly in my area. Of course the Walmart I hit regularly doesn't over order.

They went quickly at first. But now my 3 closest wal-marts are stacked with them. All 3 have full pegs of the first 4.

Pegs have been empty at my Walmart for sometime. I'm waiting for the actual retro guys and I'll buy at least 2 of each. But I wasn't going to touch the current roster. I think they made a mistake by putting those guys out first. Should have been Hasbro era guys to start and I think intrest would have been higher from those who collected the originals. I still don't think there's ever been a better line. I'm now looking for figures again for the first time since the mid 90's.

My Walmart is out of the retros but all the other stuff that's been sitting in that section hasn't seemed to change either over the past few weeks. Nothing really moving and nothing new being stocked of anything. I honestly wonder who buys WWE merch at this point. Aren't the ratings lower than they were in the New Gen period?

I think they need to concentrate on making legends first and then move on to current guys if there's a market for those. It's a great opportunity to see guys like Diesel, Big John Studd and others who never had a hasbro fig to now have one.

They still sell decent in my area. What happened was that the usual suspects went hard in the paint buying them up. Wally World restocks more. Then you had the eventual lull because the ones who were going to buy them already bought them. It's not just the Retros getting that treatment. The TNF elites are doing the same. I got 4 Walmarts that still has Macho Man. Sami is plentiful. So are Quake and Typhoon. The 1st series elites except the Rock are still outchea. And the Bash at the Beach was a rarity when it first dropped. Now I can buy 2 if I want from any Walmart in a 50 mile radius.

I don't think they sit there anymore than the other lines. I've seen the same assortment at my 2 local Walmart's since January.

Exactly, so out of the first 12 figs asuuming the rest of series 2 is indeed the rumored names, the only real Hasbro era addition I'm really happy about it Taker. Warrior's mold just looks dumb and has the same attire Hasbro already did. And the rest are all attitude era plus whatever version of Sting decide to put out. I do wish HHH would be Greenich snob version.

This whole line also gets me to thinking, IF and WHEN the Mattel contract is up for renewal or cancellation again, would there be a realm of possibility of Hasbro actually getting the license again?

They went pretty quickly, all we have left is one Brock and Cena, other stores have 1-3 hanging around. OT: I wish stores would order more, we've had 2 basics, 3 elites, no battle packs for months, they must not have their counts right. We've got 20 DMs of Warrior/Flair though. This whole line also gets me to thinking, IF and WHEN the Mattel contract is up for renewal or cancellation again, would there be a realm of possibility of Hasbro actually getting the license again? I hope not, they don't have Bill and Dave there and if they treat WWE like they do Marvel or Star Wars, getting good figures will certainly be a b*tch, whether it's shortpacking(they do a whole series for the Dr. Strange movie, then while the Deadpool movie is out, they only put one Deadpool per case in a series of X-men) or saving the crazy fun stuff for super limited SDCC items, among other close minded, bonehead decisions.

Why wouldn't you think they are good sellers? The first wave were stocked three to four pegs and nearly sold out at every location. Regardless of how the 2nd wave performs they have to be considered a hit based on that alone.

First few shipments were gone real quick. Now they are really overstocked. It's OK once they go on sale, or drop below 5$ I'll buy as many as I can

Good post. I was wondering about this myself. 2 Wal-Marts here in Bowling Green, KY. Went out looking for Warrior and Taker today. Neither store had those out yet. First store looked like they sold well. Only 2 Kevin Owens and 2 Roman Reigns in stock. At the other store though, there was 3 full pegs of them. Multiples of all 4 guys, Owens, Cena, Reigns, and Lesnar.
Is there any type of report or something that comes out that shows how well a particular line is selling?

I have been to my local Wal-Mart at least 4 times and the retro pegs have been empty each and every time.
