I feel like maybe I'm in the minority but to me they look better than an elite but not 30 dollars better. 9 times out of 10 if I'm buying a wrestling figure it's a basic or a Hasbro so these would be like 35-40 dollars more. That's a BIG difference. Plus my main focus is Hulkamania era. the reason for the big price difference is down to a few factors (most of which are just guessing) -theyre imported from Japan (hence the japanese writing on the boxes) as apossed to locally distributed, meaning the price accounts for multiple taxes, shipping and profit margin, unlike mattels WWE elites where RSC will be getting them at wholesale, they are probably buying these in at japanese RRP. -unique sculpting for pretty much everything costs money i guess (according to mattel). -much lower quanity of figures produced equals a higher price per figure,if you follow any other S.H.Figuarts line (like Dragon Ball Z) they arent available for very long (id guess maybe 5000? maybe less max of any figure is produced, much lower for the exclusives, which Undertaker & Kane were by the way).

So I finally picked these up. Working out of town for part of this month and I was shocked to see Austin and Rock at the local TRU (along with a Summerslam Balor that I needed a double of to open up, so that worked out). Couldn't pass them up once I actually had them in my hands.
My initial thoughts are that I have mixed feelings. Originally I didn't plan on buying these because something about the shape/torso/ab crunch bothers me. But I'm a huge fan of some other Figuarts lines (Mario, TMNT, and I'm thinking about getting into the Star Wars line) ... I really love their work and it seemed crazy as a wrestling guy to not at least pick these up. The head sculpts are great, and the multiple options are awesome. But I still can't get over the weird looking torso/ab crunch thing. To me these look almost like works in progress and if they could figure out the ab crunch thing to make these bodies look a little less weird I think they'd be spectacular. (Also the arms could definitely be bigger.) Right now on my desk here I've got them next to the Summerslam Balor and I've got to say the Balor blows them away at greater than half the price.
I hope they keep making WWE figures but I really hope they fix the body problem.

I was under the impression they cost a similar price in Japan. But anyway,I know WHY they cost what they do,they're super detailed collector figures. I just personally don't want to spend that much. If they were Hulkamania era characters I'd probably be more tempted.

Is this a dead line? Feels like we should have seen something new by now.

The tmnt and other figures from this line of fictional characters are outstanding but the actual real human figures are just really bad imo

I've gotten into a lot of the Figuarts/overseas lines in recent years and they won't hesitate to stop a line after a couple if it's not flying off the shelves. TMNT looks to be done before Shredder and they even showed a prototype for him.

I saw these once in TRU. They had rock and stone cold. They looked prettt cool but I thought they were bigger than what they were for sure and I didn't really like the hip joints.

Those Tiger Masks are breathtaking. Are their DBZ ones up to that level?

I was very impressed with the heads on Taker and Kane after not being impressed with the Rock I picked up. I pinned a lot of hope on Taker and Kane. The bodies were still kind of junky and brittle feeling, not at all up to the quality I've seen on so many other SHF releases. Coupled with the apparent death of the line, the high pricepoint, and no desire for Austin and Triple H, I simply sold what I had and called it a wash. Wish this line had been better, I really do.

I hadn’t planned on picking any of these up because of the higher price. That’s not meant as a knock on the product as I understand them being imports and the way the Figuarts figures are made being more expensive. I just didn’t see a reason for me to spend that much on a figure when I can get Elites and Basics for $20 and $10.
But a couple of days ago I ran across the Rock in a comic shop for $15. I knew if I was gonna ever get one, this was it.
I’ve been posing him off and on for a bit, and I’m just not loving it. I think its cool that they are so posable but for some reason it almost seems “too posable”. I know that sounds stupid but I can’t really think of a good way to describe what’s bugging me about them.
I think Figuarts did a great job with the Ninja Turtles line. I just recently bought Leonardo and have the other 3 coming for Christmas. But I just don’t think I like their attempt at WWE figures as much as I like their Turtles.
I’m still glad I bought The Rock though as I love getting now action figures and seeing how they pose and what different poa and joints that each figure has. I do have to say that I love how the knees look on these when bent, maybe Mattel should do molded kneepads and adopt the way these knees bend.

Ive got he Austin and on a good sale I’d buy more but it doesn’t make me want to pay loads for the others to be honest. If they were size matches for elite I’d be more inclined.

Tanahashi is getting made Is it? When this image hit there was a rumor they weren't actually making it, it was just a proto they were showing off. I wasn't sure. I hope so though. Make all the NJPW dudes! Okada, Kenny, Naito, I'd even buy Yano and Taguchi dammit!
