Hasbro's were my first wrestling figures, like many of the rest of you and there seems to be a resurgence of sorts for Hasbro's at the moment. I am not a hardcore collector, but I do have all, but the green cards and the variant HBK and Razor.
Anyway, the point of my post today is if you could have a question or questions answered about the Hasbro line what would it be?
Mine would be this
Was the Series 3 Macho Man Randy Savage figure ever planned to have long tights like the mini figure in the Royal Rumble ring?
All the other mini ring figures have the same attire as their bigger counterparts except Macho Man. I always hated how we never got a long tights ring gear Macho Man as when I was a kid the one with the jacket while looking cool was hard to play with. I always used it as his entrance gear and then I would switch to the series 1 figure.
So what about you guys. is there any questions that you have always wanted to know the answer to about Hasbros.

Great thread! I would have loved a Macho Man with the same design as the mini figure, replacing the Series 3 Macho Man.
Like many others, I'd love to know a bit more about subsequent planned Series', such as the 'Orange Carded' Series 12.
Also, why did they stop making 2-pack tag-teams? Were there ever any plans to bring them back in later Series' should the line have continued? I suspect it was a way of making more money having the tag teams as singular figures.
Why did they scrap plans to offer the HBK and Razor Ramon Series 10 variants as Mail Aways? If this is indeed true.
So many more questions!

Great thread and topic! Actually the beefcake mini figure was also different from the series 3 figure. He still had the new body shape but had pink tights almost like the series 1 figure. It's always just been an educated guess, but my thoughts have always been that they were simply going to re-pack the S2 Macho King into S3 assortments just like Piper and Duggan. But then he dropped the King gimmick, so they just took away the crown and scepter. I did have a custom of Macho Man with the mini figure attire, but sold it about a year ago when I decided to get rid of my collection, before deciding to rebuy again.

My thoughts on why they stopped tag teams was perhaps when they got to the 93' lineup and they really didn't have any proper tag teams to put out, so then it just stopped going forward and they would be carded seperatly when they did finally put out some new teams like the Steiners etc. This was also around the time the tag division really dwindled after Demolition, Harts, Rockers all split and LOD left etc. My favorites are still the 2 packs, I just think they look so cool in the package. I wish we had gotten Rythem and Blues, and Hart Foundation. And they would have continued with 2 packs until the end.

Secondly, perhaps it was more about distribution. Only places I saw 2-packs were Toys R Us and Kiddie City. I could see why smaller retailers like KB and department stores wouldn't want to bother stocking 3 or 4 different assortments. I suppose they could have done Money Inc., New Foundation or some other teams in 93 had they wanted. Never understood why Owen and Anvil weren't even in the same set.

Who has final say on which guys went into each set? Hasbro or Wwf. The amount of times people had left before hitting shelves makes me wonder if it was avoidable at all and could have seen some guys that didn't get figures in the line. E.g. Haku.

Yeah, like why were some guys put out over 6 months after they left the company like Flair, Warlord etc. While others like Beefcake #3 got scrapped. And typically they always tried to get 6 guys per assortment. This happened in the yellow, red, purple, dark blue (until they added HBK and Razor after initial shipments), plus series 1, 2, and 3 were split into assortments of 6. I wonder if and what guys were planned for some of the other assortments that wound up with odd number. These were: Series 4: Bret, Bossman, Bulldog, Dragon, Taker 93' Asst 1: Mountie, Anvil, Sid, Warlord, Virgil 93' Asst 2: Model, Macho, Hogan, Skinner, IRS Would there have been a 6th guy intended for each of those lineups? Considering the time period could have very well been Jake Roberts heel version, a new Roddy Piper, Barbarian, or even another Warrior for 93'. And Diesel would have made sense as the 6th guy in the green cards and Crush and Yokozuna repaints who weren't pictured on the back of the card like the other 5 were probably added late to help fill out the series.

Green Card Crush seems like the most desperate attempt at using filler, since they didn't bother to change his picture for the card. I've never looked at the Yokozuna cards, but at least his appearance is consistent so not to raise eyebrows.

Why did they use an old photo of Tito for the card instead of using one of him as El Matador ...

Why didn't we have a ic belt and tag belts? Definitely! They did need more belts, IC and Tag Team titles would have been great. They done Championship belt and M$M belt. Suppose they didn't want to put the belts on a figure so had no other way of releasing them as Championship belt came on the Ring and M$M belt came with the figure as was his accessory.

I cannot believe that I didn't know the Hasbro Macho King mini figure had tights. That would have been so cool.
Has anybody ever made a full-size custom?

Were managers and other non-wrestlers ever considered for figures?

WHY DIDN'T THEY MAKE A DIESEL FIGURE!?
What's up with the laziness of releasing duplicate Tatanka figures in 2 different series?
Why was it SO hard for them to get the color of Yokuzuna's gear right?

Is there a complete list of which figures were or were not released on non-U.S. cards? I don't recall ever seeing anything past series 5 on non U.S. other than the Funskools.
But recently noticed when searching for the Nasty Boys that they don't seem to exist on non-U.S. cards while L.O.D. from the same tag team series is quite common on non-U.S. card.
I also don't think I've ever seen a Dusty Rhodes on anything but English cards. Are there any others from Series 5 and back that were only on U.S. cards? And is it true Dusty and Nastys were only on English cards? I wouldn't mind finding a non English Dusty MOC if it meant a cheaper price than the English version.
