Hi all, new member so sorry if this question is in the wrong place. My parents bought me all the Hasbro figures when I was younger and my interest was reignited when the retro figures were released recently. I have been looking on eBay at carded figures and notice some are perfect while the bubble on others appears to have caved in. Am I seeing this correctly? If so, what causes the bubble to cave in? If I buy any mint figures, how can this problem be avoided? Thanks, Mark from the UK

Usually if the bubble is collapsed it's due to improper storage (stacking, moving a lot, etc).

Yeah, never heard of them collapsing on there own. I assume you're looking at Hasbros MOC on ebay? And not Mattel retros? Best thing is to just examine photos, check seller's feedback, make sure they're showing you photos of the actual item for sale and not a stock photo, and ask them to pack them well enough so they don't get damaged in the mail.

I always wanted to know how many hasbros were produced in total, it must be a massive amount of batches.

I would have liked to know why Hasbro never got another wrestling license after WWF and why they didn't cross-promote at all with their other lines.
I also would have liked to know if they had got a new license if the new figures would have been like the old ones.
Also, which I'm sure has been asked before, why did they only do Tag Team 2 Packs and not rivalry 2 packs? People would have loved Hogan/Andre, HBK/Razor, etc.

No reason why we can't have that in the retro line now.

While I would have liked more figures with accessories, I'm very glad it didn't become what Jakks, etc. did with so many that they became stupid, boring, excessive, and useless from an excitement standpoint.
"Wow, Papa Shango has a removable bone necklace!" vs. "Wow, 1-2-3 Kid comes with a steel chair (the 100th of such in the figure line, btw), a hammer, a hat, and a deep-sea diving bell!"

I didn't actually mind that about Jakks, if I had 1,000 little rainbow-coloured Hasbro chairs, I'd be cool with it.

The lack of accessories/title belts, side characters always bugged me. But more than anything, no steel cage. I was familiar with the LJN series thanks to friends and cousins who had those figures, so to see those figures with refs, managers, and more specifically a steel cage always bugged me. Then Galoob put out their WCW ring with a cage, and I never bought it because I was holding out, hoping Hasbro would make one for their WWF ring.
So that would be my question. Were there ever any plans for a steel cage accessory?

I wonder if someone could just email them and ask? Edit: I just went to Hasbro's site and submitted the question. Hopefully I get a response. If so, I'll report back.

Thanks for asking them, they can still be found for fair prices everywhere, and i guess they were pretty cheap to produce in the 90s.

I'd like to understand more about the assembly line process of how they created each figure. How the different colours were applied and how they printed text and tattoos etc on each figure consistently and efficiently.

But then again you look between 1990 and 1994, there was very few steel cage matches. I can think of Warrior Vs Rude SS1990 and then nothing until Steiners Vs ? On a episode of Raw? They didn't happen often.

I was thinking the same thing about Mattel, I want a new cage but they hardly use the cage nowadays especially compared to how often they use Hell in a Cell and Money in the Bank, so it seems like it'd at least be third down behind those two for a mass market release/re-release. I have thought that the Bendies LJN ring is pretty perfect for Hasbro and still classic WWF so it's not a huge loss. I'd be interested to know also, how Hasbro feels about the new Mattel Retro line?

Was the green trunks Macho Man from the JC Penney planned as a variant or exclusive, or was it an earlier prototype that came before the orange?
What was the reason for changing Shawn Michaels from the Jake Roberts to Macho Man action? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with cost cutting, as both used existing molds.
How did Piper end up with red elbow pads?
