Boil and pop is what I think most people do. I use a hair dryer which is practically the same. There are different lengths to the pegs so you may encounter situations where you have a long peg and the head is designed for a short or vice versa. This would require cracking the torso and replacing the peg or modifying the head hole to make it fit.
