Just wondering. Always thought they were more popular with collectors than the Jakks figures. Maybe I was wrong?

Good question indeed. My guess is that Ringside Collectibles once had a special partnership with Jakks (before Mattel took over as the WWE's main toy maker).
Needless to say, I would definitely support a Hasbro subsection.

Well, Jack Specific started this board. At that time Jakks had the WWE license, so there was a Jakks sub-board and there was the Other Brands sub-board. So at that time Other Brands was for past lines like Remco, LJN, Hasbro as well as for then current lines as OSFTM or even Charapro. When Jakks lost the license to Mattel the Mattel sub-board was added. That's the reason.

Youre onto something here. I think there should be seperate subs for both hasbro and LJN. In my opinion they are the best lines of wrestling figures ever made.

Sub is a sub board. All of the first section of the main screen like the Lounge, for instance, have one and in that case it is the member introduction and banter boards. Some of the other sections have them as well, depending on the subject.

This is an interesting one. I think LJN and Hasbro do deserve their own sections, but then does this also open up a can of worms in requiring one for Remco, Toybiz etc etc ... It may just be best to leave it as it is for now.

LJN and Hasbro were and are my favorites, but this is fine. Been like this for so long, who even cares. Plus I like coming to 1 subforum and that's it

Probably because the figures are 25+ years old and there isnt a whole lot of news about them. I mean honestly just look at most threads. 90% of them are "this is my collection/new pick up" threads. Really no reason for an entire dedicated board for just that. The JAKKS board is pretty dead but moving/removing it could mess up the archive for a lot of the threads.

I agree. I don't mind looking mainly in the one location and occasionally switching over to the mattel forum to see when the bloody retros are ever going to show up in Australia!

I have long wished for this. I think Hasbro is popular enough to have it's own sub, and it could include Hasbro Customs and Mattel Retros. I hate having to skim all the mattel topics to find any update on the retros and it's the only line I care about from them. I'd also like to see custom work, but it's too hard to find Hasbro stuff buried amongst everything else.

Might be easier to just use ebay. They seem to be so flooded with them right now that you can nab them at not terribly much than retail. Maybe in a few months prices will go up if the supply dries up.

Hasbro WWF has a great following here and is deserving of its own sub-board, but the primary reason is that the line isn't about to break any new ground.
The new WWE Retro figures belong with the rest of Mattel's product line since they have no real ties to Hasbro or any other manufacturer.
For all of us Jakks figure fans, let's hope that Jack never decides to go rouge on that board. It would be a shame to lose out on 10 years' worth of discussion.

You can only post so many new threads on old toys. Hell, I love LJN toys and have only collected the 84-89 stuff from Titan Grand/LJN but I couldn't find enough topics to talk about every week on them.

If we absolutely can't have a Hasbro sub, perhaps at very least could there be a stickied thread on the "other brands" sub with any Mattel Retro updates? Like if Mattel puts out photos of coming waves or release dates etc. Just basic info so we don't need to machete our way through the hundreds of Mattel threads to find the little info on the retro line? I'm sure a lot of Hasbro collectors are into the retros but nothing else from Mattel.

Besides this forum has a "search" option, no need to read through Mattel posts that aren't about the Retro-line.

If there were enough Hasbro WWF fans interested, I think a case could be made for a thread on the Mattel board devoted entirely to the latest information on the Retro WWE line. It could be called "Mattel WWE Retro Figures Thread (For Hasbro Collectors)" or something like that. Of course, there would still be findings posts elsewhere on the board. Hasbro collectors could then bookmark it and there would be no need for them to use the search function on a daily/weekly basis.
