Reminds me when Steve Blackman, Road Dogg and Hardcore Holly got title shots for literally no other reason for just 'being there'.

Remember when Sheamus debuted on Raw and instantly got a title shot even though he was pretty much a WWECW jobber and we were all like "LOL well he's never gonna win it". Oh man. What if Jinder wins? Wasn't Sheamus undefeated on WWECW?

Honestly I like it. When they announced the match I was like Jinder Mahal was going to win. I predicted that he would move to Smackdown and get a push because they need strong heels. Ziggler is going to feud with Nakamura. Corbin wasn't even in the match. Mojo/Harper/Zayn were good guys so you know they wasn't going to win. Rowan was just beat last week so it's been done. Mahal was the best choice and with the Bollywood Boyz or The Singh Brothers as they go by now will be a good stable. Smackdown needs the tag team help and with Rusev gone Jinder is the top foreign heel. I don't have any problems with it. So what if WWE wants more India viewers in that huge market area. Jinder has worked hard and has the look and charisma of a star in Vince's eyes which is that matters. He won't win the title but if you try to create a new main star what could it hurt?

I like it, hopefully it works out. What I would love to see though is to Smackdown to have quite a few stables, with Jinder & Bollywood Boyz, New Day, put a returning Shelton with American Alpha, the Colons with Carlito and preferably find a storyline way to bring Gallows & Anderson over to Smackdown so we get the Club with AJ.

Not happy about it, Somebody more deserving should have gotten the spot. If they seriously wanted to give him a push why he booked like a geek the week before.

He's only in this position because WWE just came to a huge new TV deal in India. He won't be in the WWE title mix long.
I am all for new feuds and matches. He wouldn't have been my first choice but it is something different.

Jinder isn't just lower card, he's a jobber. His w/L is 2-50. So, no. Jobbers shouldn't receive main event pushes.

I don't know what will happen with him and the Bollywood boys, stables usually bring people way, way up.
I think they did it too fast though.
However, I think Jinder vs. Orton will be that opening PPV match and the closing match will be for the Women's Title, so it's not that surprising if that's how the PPV unfolds.
