As we noted several weeks ago, WWE Smackdown star Shinsuke Nakamura revealed in an interview that WWE first pitched him a theme song and he turned it down, before agreeing to use his current song. When speaking to ESPN to promote NXT Takeover Orlando, Nakamura had the following to say on turning down his initial WWE NXT theme song: According to The Wrestling Observer, the “Glorious” song, which is now being used as Bobby Roode’s NXT theme, was originally created for Shinsuke Nakamura, and was in fact the theme song Nakamura turned down several times. That clearly worked out. I still perfer Nakamura's New Japan theme but i like his current one. Glorious wouldn't fit him since it's a heelish sounding theme.

He would have been DOA with Glorious. It doesn't fit him at all.

At first, i didnt think it was true cause i saw Meltzer write about it, but now that i read that Nakamura was the first to talk about it, i believe it.
Im so glad Nakamura turned it down and went with what it is today. I cant imagine Roode not using Glorious Domination

Shudder at the thought... Both themes are perfect for Nakamura and Roode respectively

It wouldn't have suited Nakamura at all. Roode has made that gimmick his own and embraced that theme.

What a great decision Nakamura made. You see if you give wrestlers some freedom, they can make their own good choices for their character.

Good thing Shinksuke rejected that cacophony and made CFO$ get his music right I was wondering what the CFO of WWE had to do with this so I looked him up and was amazed to find this picture, on the WWE website. Worst photoshopped hair?

Personally I don't like the glorious song either way,but that would of been horrible for shinsake. It would of seemed like a joke. Good thing he rejected it. Smart move.

Lord how terrible would it be for Nakamura to come out to glorious. That's such a heel song.

I like Nakamura's theme music, but does anyone else hear a resemblance to Sami Zayn's music? It's almost as if they created the same song using different instruments with some obvious variations.

This happens a lot with CFO$ Cedric Alexander and AJ Styles have a lot of similarities in their themes as well. CFO$ has a ton of talent but this is a problem that will always come up when using the same material to create theme. Jim Johnson is guilty of the same thing. Stone Cold and Razor Ramon have almost legitimately the exact same theme song.
