i didn't like the change at the time, but it works out well that we've had the wwwf for the early years, wwf for the mid years and now wwe for the modern times.

I remember that first Raw in which I heard them say WWE too. I thought, "wow, Lillian Garcia is really screwing up tonight, calling the WWF the WWE" and then Jim Ross says, "WWE" and I was like, "wow, even JR messed up!" Then I noticed the scratch logo was different, and I was like, "oh... what the hell happened??"
So then I went online to read up that Vince would rather have all his history erased pretty much because he didn't wanna put out some cash apparently.
I used to hate getting WWE DVDs from the Attitude Era, they were so unwatchable with the scratch logo being blurred out so much.

And yet, there are still people that refer to it as WWF. I call the company WWF if Im talking about events that happened before the name change.

The slogan at the time was ''Get the F out'' well I wish they would get the F back. The promo ads for that were hilarious. Especially the one where the lady is trimming the hedges

The transition from WWF to WWE is the start of the online shopping era for me.
I started collecting Championship Title Belts a little after they got the "F" out. It was around that time that I started seeing ads for replicas, and toy versions in stores. As soon as I saw the kids sized Jakks Undisputed WWE World Championship Title Belt, I became a collector.
I also started buying compilation DVD / shirt packages from WWE's online store.

I wonder how many members here were born after the switch? I remember thinking it was a far bigger deal than it turned out to be. I had the moronic idea that they should rename the company WWFE. That is (or at least was) their stock symbol. I think I might deserve to be banned based on that alone.

I began watching in January of 2001, so WWE (not WWF) is my bread and butter. The coolest thing I've ever seen was the entire Punk storyline for MITB 2011. Amazing stuff.

The ending of Wrestlemania 20 was the greatest there will ever be. Oh yeah, when Eddie Guerrero performed a magic trick after the end of HHH vs HBK where he was hugging thin air while a belt floated and then it got lost and Randy Orton found it again at SummerSlam Chris Benoit won the world heavyweight championship at Madison square garden, on the grandest stage of them all, which he deserved. He then shared an emotional moment with his great friend Eddie Guerrero who was also World Champion. That is THE moment of all time. Nothing else happened. We remember Benoit as a wrestler. These jokes are not comical and are non sensicle. Sorry

Everyone hated the change at the time and later learned to accept it It's just a name. I'd prefer it if it were still called WWF but I'm not bothered by WWE. My main concern is with that warehouse full of monkeys with typewriters they've got booking all the shows.

It's been fifteen years to the day and its crazy how fast time flies. To be completely honest, the whole WWF/WWE dispute was one of the worst and most bizarre legal cases that I've ever seen. I can understand the wildlife fund wouldn't want them saying WWF on new programming etc., but forcing them to blur out every logo in old footage was flat out insane. Thank god they loosened this rule a few years back. My current understanding is that they can pretty much use WWF on all old footage, they're just not allowed to re-use "WWF" and the logos on new things, which is fair enough. My only grievance at the moment is that for WWE Network shows, if someone holds up an old title belt in new footage, they have to blur out the WWF. Prime examples of this being "What's Virgil doing in the WWE warehouse?" and "The European Championship Returns - 5 Things".
It would have been nice to have had the WWF logo on the new retro Hasbro series, do you think they'll ever be permitted to use the WWF logo again?

Can't they use The Logo before the Attitude Era scratch one?

Can't they use The Logo before the Attitude Era scratch one? Nope. They USED to be able to use the golden logo and the new generation logos (see 2010 RAW Old School for example), however part of the 2012 deal to use uncensored footage was that they'd have to relinquish using those two logos as well. Yep, totally bizarre.

What I don't get is the WWF logo looks like one W with an F at the end so I don't get the issue as to why they couldn't use it.
Basically if you aren't a wrestling fan you would have no idea what the logo means because it doesn't say WWF.
