I think Mattel needs to find a way to make sure each big box store like TRU, Walmart, Target etc gets a different wave of elites and basics and that might help the problem.

I still don't think Mattel and their retailers have their distribution figured out. I was at target yesterday and now they're flooded with the HOF 2 packs. They had to of gotten in a at least 7 cases of that series since they 1st came out and who knows how many more they'll order.
We want the figures but no one is gonna buy that many from one store.

So walmart has 5,000 plus stores in the usa. 3,500 are supercenter stores, 400 are "discount stores" the rest are sams clubs and neighborhood markets. Lets go with 4,000 stores since its an even number. Then lets take 20 elites, 20 battlepacks, and 20 basics as a rough guess as to the average amount of dead inventory they are pulling/recalling. 4k stores times $1,000 per store, equals $400k (retail) then your shipping 400k worth of product back to a mattel warehouse or two. I can't even guess the shipping cost cause i don't know if they get a volume discount or not in this case. If they are dead set on sending it all back to themselves thats more money they are going to spend. I'm gonna guess somewhere in the 500k range of the cost of this recall. That 1k per store figure would be the SRP value. They'll be crediting back to the store the direct cost, which is going to be significantly less. Some more of that cost will be recovered when the figures are most likely sold to a secondary retailer like Ross, 5 Below, or TJ Maxx. Whatever lost profit Mattel probably assumes will be made up by the revenue from getting new product on the shelves that will sell through at a (hopefully) normal pace. This is pretty common practice for many segments of retail. I'm glad Mattel took the plunge on this. Hopefully it will sort of be a "reset" button to get retail back to normal moving forward.

I realize the price Walmart sells stuff for is not what they pay for but when mattels tax lawyers file this next year I'm betting that's what they will write off the retail price.

So are they scanning the figures upc codes or are they manually looking at dates on back of packaging or just taking everything off the shelves and boxing them up ? The Mattel vendor is supposed to come in and identify the figures to go back. The notification I received said anything 2015 and before. I'm not sure if Mattel will be willing to accept more recent figures if the quantities are outrageous. My rep hasn't come to my store yet and my on hands aren't out of control because I pay attention to them. So are Walmart managers just pulling everything off the shelves and then a Mattel rep goes through it all ?? Then the newer stuff stays ? Also are the tnf basics/elites being pulled as well ??

Stopped by my home Wal Mart today and noticed a few different things. All the Wyatt Jumpsuit Bryan Elites, Sandow Elites gone. All the 2 packs gone period. This Wal Mart also had some of the newer ADR's amd Rybacks warming. They are now gone as well. There were a few other figs from the same series as ADR still there. Does this mean these reps are pulling anything of people no longer under a contract as well??

I'm at mine right now. The only battlepacks they have are the Bushwhackers. They have a few new basics. No regular elites at all. A ton of TNF basics. 2 Earthquakes and a Typhoon with the belt stolen.

Good for Wallmart but what about Wal-Mart? Same, shouldn't wallmart be selling walls instead of wrestling figures?

Someone found HoF 4 at a Walmart.. It would be awesome if the HOF line were to become available at other retailers or perhaps a Walmart exclusive instead. Target has done a horrible job with the distribution of this line and don't deserve to have any more exclusives IMO. Perhaps TPTB at Mattel distribution have finally woken up and are moving it to another retailer?! I hope this actually happens as I don't see the HOF line surviving if it remains a Target exclusive. HOF 4 only came out recently when it was supposed to be released a year ago- at this rate it will probably be another year before we see HOF 5 released which sucks because I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on the Piper & Jake the Snake figures!

It was probably just a mistake as the figures didn't ring up in the system.

It was probably just a mistake as the figures didn't ring up in the system. That's what I figured, some dumba$$ returned them to the wrong store. However, its great to dream of this line actually moving to another retailer, especially for us international collectors who don't have any Targets.

The person found at least 3 sting, 2 booker, 1 edge, and 1 Lawler though
