Hi guys
Based on the popularity of the hasbro retro style figs do you think they will do a retro style ring to go with them?
As in old blue steps, red white and blue ropes, sized for those figs etc

I would hope so. Not sure how popular they are though I think the initial wave sold well but have been rotting at every Walmart I've been to for months now.

Probably be up to Walmart. They already have a bunch of exclusives and only so much shelf space for WWE products. They carry the regular basic, elite, and BP lines along with TNF basics, elites, and elite 3 packs, plus the retros, and also basic rings, belts, zombies, mutants, and just about every other WWE Mattel product not exclusive to a particular store. But these things are selling well so they may wanna clear some additional space for retro accessories.

Walmart has shrunk its toy aisles so mich in the past few years, I honestly see any other exclusives becoming online only. Unfortunatly the rush of walking into a store for a hunt has only a few years left. Amazon is moving here and is offering same day shipping, which will put a massive choke hold on local brick and mortars and even large corporationd. What a tangent to have to get to the conclusion that Mattel must make a retro ring!

I would love to see that. Hopefully we get a blue and yellow version!

Why does it matter what Walmart think?

Why does it matter what Walmart think? The retro figures are a walmart exclusive. So they would decide weather or not they wanted to use shelf space for a retro figure exclusive ring.

Probably not. Unless this effort was going to include at least a dozen lines of figures. An exclusive retro ring to be distributed at one store seems like a money pit. How many would they have to sell to make a profit to justify. Design, engineering molds, materials, etc.

I'd like to see one with a cage. I don't know how big of a market the nostalgia collector is compared to people just going to the store and buying something they like.
I think the collectors are such a bigger secondary than primary market it might be a bit unlikely but I'm not gonna give up hope that the line becomes super popular and leads to a lot more stuff.
I saw someone mention how cool it'd be if they did a good job in LJN throwback figures and started thinking more about all the things they could do if the retro line takes off.
A part of me wonders what kids think of those figures compared to their other options...

Well they are WalMart Exclusives in the US. But as for the question of a ring...If they make one it won't be a classic ring it would be a modern one seeing most figures they will make will be modern wrestlers.

Those who buy the figures deserve a ring. I don't see why not as flex force, rumblers/super strikers and the new talking ones I think are called tough talkers have so I see no reason not to do one for the retros. I have the breakdown ring from flex force, I used to love the original flex force stuff lol. Probably not a retro style but definitely a ring for them.

Series 2 will have more older wrestlers than current. Kane, Austin, and Rock are all flashback attire. Mankind is certainly gonna be a flashback. Sting I am guessing will be a modern crow with shorter hair and a soul patch and Triple H with a shaved head but both of them could also potentially be flashbacks as well. Regardless of the latter 2, we know at least 4 of the 6 will be flashbacks.

I don't expect them to do a ring, but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised as I would most definitely buy it.

It would be cool to get a hasbro type ring with maybe a blue steel cage accessory

I'd rather Mattel tackle a proper WCW scale ring (i.e. 18x18) first
