I found this on the back of an old comic book from 1994. I don't know all about the game since when I was kid I wasn't allowed to have a game console or watch wrestling. I was a small kid in the early 90's, can't blame my parents for not wanting me to see the attitude era of wrestling. I'm sure some older fans will be able to tell me more about the game this ad was for. (And who that spooky looking woman is, I recognize all the male wrestlers though)

That woman is Luna Vachon
That game was a huge part of my childhood, each superstar had their own "special" move that you needed to know a combo of buttons for. I believe at one point wwe(f) Put out a VHS with secrets and tips for this game.
I spent hours just looking at this ad waiting to receive the game from my parents.

The "special supers" were what made this game, and some others of the era, so fun. If only they would have kept going and done more of them, or fatality style, in WWF Arcade game.

I loved that game. I got it for Christmas one year or right before because I hounded my mom constantly about it, so she gave it to me.
I hated the Arcade style games that followed. They were just too fast paced and unrealistic.

I was a sophomore/junior in high school in '94 and I had super nes, game boy, and genesis but I didn't have this game

I used the old butter knife trick on this for Christmas. Lived this game, and Royal Rumble. Owen was my favorite to play as.

My parents wrapped the gift, and I took a butter knife and cut the tape on the gift, once you're done you just put tape right over the old tape. Did it for years.

For some reason, I thought you meant you used a butter knife to doctor the cartridge somehow. I didn't read 'Christmas' in your original post at first.

Interesting the ad mentions RAW IS WAR. Foreshadowing what was to come in 1997?

They had this stupid notion that if I played games it would make me lazy and hate school.
Which backfired because it made me feel like I had to choose when I was eventually exposed to games when I got older. Needless to say I liked games and hated school.

No offense but we're your parents home schooled? Did they live a sheltered childhood and expect you to have the same?

I think it was more my mom's doing as one of her gossipy friends had a son that liked mario and had bad grades. Dad didn't so much care as he went along with it. When my parents split up I was allowed to have a gameboy at my Dad's house so long as I did my chores and stuff.

My parents already had an Atari when I was born and bought me a nintendo when I was 5. I don't remember I time when I didn't have videogames. I made sure to keep my grades up for fear of them taking my games away.
