Some brilliant tributes to Chris from various other bands. Aerosmith, not sure of the second one, The Pretty Reckless and obviously Megadeth. Absolute chills and tears watching Momsen pull through the performance. As they were just on tour with Soundgarden before Chris' death. Absolutely heart shattering.

I sent a bunch of promo/not for resale singles that I was about to list on eBay to a friend after I heard of this news. Even I felt bad thinking about making money on old SG singles titled "The Day I Tried to Live" (w/ track #2 being Like Suicide or a live version, to boot...) and/or "Pretty Noose"
(I still put up a gigantic lot of 30 Pearl Jam CDs with no shame, and even some STP.... Weiland was walking-dead for yrs, and the butt of the death lottery sadly.)
My friend and his girlfriend appreciated the gifts and belated b-day stuff (for the girlfriend/other friend of mine). As for Cornell, I think that there's more to this than a manic depressant who decided to go back to his hotel and hang himself.
I tend to agree with his family that drugs may have driven him into a suicidal state more than the news is reporting. Mental health and suicide reform... both need to be worked on. It's sad. It's a bummer for sure. I liked Soundgarden and still will play their albums.... and he did have a great voice. What makes it all the more depressing is the guy has life by the balls (the average person would think...) and is a demi-god to so many, but still has so many inner demons--be it drugs, depression, a combo of both that is a deadly mix (I can attest), or whatever--and even with a loving family and all of that fame and fans suckling from the teat, he still is tormented and driven enough to be out of hell-on-earth to tie that rope.
That is where we need mental health awareness to actually work. We also need to be more aware 24/7, 365; not only when somebody beautiful and famous dies.
RIP Chris and my thoughts go out to his kids and wife and intermediate friends/fam. This was shocking, but not so much. I wasn't surprised and instantly thought "suicide"--now, when I heard he played w/ Soundgarden (no clue they'd been touring) the night before, I wondered if he was having issues on the side and if he was... I think we'll be hearing or reading about them soon enough.
Something drove him to it. You don't just hang yourself after the show... and I have read he was taking a lot of benzos the week of and night of that particular concert too. Those drugs are terrible--coming from someone locked behind Xanax bars.
RIP Chris Cornell. May you find peace somewhere.

Second is Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ah. I'm only familiar with Anthony, Flea and Chad. That's probably why. Thanks.

Second is Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just the guitarist it seems. True enough. Chilling cover though, really enjoyed that.

I was only introduced to Black Hole Sun one night in April 2016 but I feel like I've known it my whole life. I get so nostalgic listening to it.
