Bit of a back story.
I catch the train to and from work. Takes about 45 mins each way, needless to say I have sometime to kill each day. Anyway, I sometimes wind up down 'rabbit holes' on YouTube. During the week, I was watching the top 10 best entrances, debuts and returns etc.. I got onto Shinsake Nakamura Smackdown debut. And I gotta tell ya, I can count the amount of matches I have watched of his on one hand. No doubt about it, he is super talented, (maybe a little odd) but very entertaining. But I wouldn't call myself a fan of his (not yet). I am more for older Wrestling, Bret Hart, Warrior, Hogan etc... I would rather watch Royal Rumble 92 (which I have seen 50 times), then watch 2016, which I haven't seen. (showing my age here)
I told you all that so I could explain this. I was lucky enough to travel to USA (from Australia) for WrestleMania (my first one), and as usual one of my suit cases was packed with figures upon my return. One of those was Defining Moments Shinsake Nakamura, now I am NOT a completest (well not anymore, once upon a time during the CS days, but not anymore) and really only buy figures I want. EXCEPT for defining Moments. Are all the figures perfect? nope. Far from it. UM Warrior could have easily been in regular elite, as could have the most recent Cena, and honestly Shinsake. I don't even rate Shinsake figure all that highly. I think the molded legs are completely wrong, but I digress.
My point is this - I simply must have ALL Defining Moments figures. (I will own the 1 of 15's one day, timing just isn't right, and my Shoes/travel habits eats more money then I care to add up).
Does anyone else feel this way. Is there anything you simply must have? Regardless of what it is? Maybe you collect all of one wrestler? Maybe you are trying to complete the NWO. Maybe like me, you just have to have all Defining Moments?
And yes, I understand its stupid to buy stuff you don't like. I like ALL the defining Moments figures. They haven't made one I don't like. I like more then others, but I will say - I will blind buy every single one they make. ALL of them... They could put the Nathan Jones in a Defining Moments box, and ill buy it.
Thoughts?

I've gotten DM surfer only because it was on sale and easily fixable with a torso swap minus the bad headscan. Now I'm also focusing on a WCW collection, mainly cherry picking the ones I like lol.

DMs for me have been hit or miss
The regular elite line is the greatest IMO, in terms of selection and price point

I own every Kane and Undertaker so far. Also I own every AJ and Finn as well. Undertaker and Kane are my two favorites from childhood. I've been following Finn since he debuted as Prince Devitt, and he's my second favorite to only AJ. I do love the DM line. A few have been questionable at best, but I still own them. To date the line has a few of my favorite figures. WM 7 Savage and Warrior, Steamboat and HBK are in my top five favorite figures of all time. I can't wait to have the new Savage as well.

Yeah... like you, I will always buy every single DM figure, no matter what - and every Flashback too, regardless if I was a fan or not. I love the DM packaging... I'm really hoping for Goldberg, Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy DM figures, sooner or later.

Defining moments and network spotlights have both had quite a few I really like and by putting just the occasional current guy in it tempts me not just to buy flashbacks.

I have every Target HOF fig (including the Dusty). I'm more of a FB collector than anything, so despite the HOF line's limits I feel as if it caters to me the most. And i think they've also had some great figs. Plus I live within 5 miles of like 6 different Targets, so I'm sure that counts for something haha. Also a fan of DMs, though i got in the game a little late and missed out on some of the earlier ones, and I wouldn't spend 100 + on that Triple H with that horrifying scan (even though thats a dope fig). More recently i have collected all versions of Demon Finn and will continue to do so

DM's are def. my faves.
They have the coolest boxes as you can pull em in and out anytime.
They also have the coolest accessories, I wish I started collecting earlier I would have gotten more.
I think there is a super rare Old Man Warrior or something like that too.

I wish they could be a tiny bit cheaper (maybe £16 instead of £19) but for the most part you get what you pay for barring the odd quality control niggle, which can't really be helped anyway on a mass produced toy line.

I'm in no way a completist. There is nothing I will buy just because it's a part of something even though I don't need/want it.

I've been buying doubles since the first Flair, I kind of wish I'd bought doubles of the earlier ones too, but they didn't have the custom insert art like the new ones do, also HBK and The Rock were tough to find 1 of at retail, let alone 2. They just look nice, I'm still waiting to find a closed robe WM24 Flair to add to the mib guys.
Ever since the Legends 1 reveal in 2010, (impressed with Dusty, Dragon, and Road Warriors out of the gate.)I vowed to pick up every one of them and the modern Elites as well, in case I became interested in the show again, so I have pretty much all of those with few exceptions. I remember thinking Mattel didn't "get" the WWE license when first showed protos, because out of the first heritage series, the only retired wrestler in the line was Stone Cold Steve Austin, and I thought, "Jeez, that's as deep as you're willing to go? Good luck with that line!".

I think for the most part I must have most of the Sting elites. I've passed on the e39 and the hof 4 simply because I thought they weren't executed correctly. I've gotten DM surfer only because it was on sale and easily fixable with a torso swap minus the bad headscan. Now I'm also focusing on a WCW collection, mainly cherry picking the ones I like lol. So you have to have every elite Sting but you don't want half of them and only bought one because it was one sale. Doesn't seem like your have to have them at all

They have have flaws & could be hit or miss. I'm a completest so I buy all elites plus package variants. Still looking for a Cody Rhodes wearing face mask & hoodie variant.

I'll buy them all, and I do really like them, I like the box, my only issue is this, I would prefer a Defining Moment figure to represent a Defining Moment. Yes I want it to be literal. I want it to be exactly what it says on the box. I don't want a 'premium' elite in a DM box

DM has been great, but I have to point the winning finger at the Elite Then-Now-Forever line. With wave 3 on the horizon, they have cranked out some top not h figures and plenty of First time in the line selections.
DM's have been the second best running line since the birth of Mattel WWE toy line. I wish the Hollywood Hogan will see a release one day, as well as a WCW Champion Goldberg. I'll give DM top spot for representation inside a package and package design. Easily the nicest and cleanest looking figures for MOC display.

If there's something I'm not digging about the figure, or if I feel that a better version would be released than I'll pass. The DM surfer Sting I originally passed on. I only got it because it was cheap and an easy fix, but other than that I wasn't going to get it. It's a want vs need thing, I have every elite Sting minus the hof and e39...

Definitely an awesome line. Great figures in cool boxes. I try and get 2 of the ones I like to keep moc.

No, sorry Mattel but when it comes to greatest lines ever Hasbro beats them every time. Marvel Universe 3.75 is my personal pick for best toyline ever, but G.I. Joe 25th and Transformers G1 are close behind.

They are attractively boxed, but I remember the first DM line before they cancelled it and you definitely got way more bang for the buck. I kind of dread them now because so many have been expensive for no other reason than the box.
My favorite DMs have been the original Stone Cold in the jeans with the coat and all, the first Ric Flair, The Rock, Crow Sting, and Hogan.
