I'm curious which series of Jakks figures (RA, Best ofs, Classic, etc.) are compatible for head swapping with Mattel figures? Could I take an RA head and swap it on a Mattel body?

R3's are great
Not sure about RA/CS though

Ive found that TTL heads tend to work pretty well since they are smaller (RA had baloon heads alot of the time)

Most of the main lines are. BCA(even though they aren' the best quality), TTL, R3, RA and DA, although depending on the figure the head on a RA or DA could be massive (see the later Scott Hall figures)
Occasionally you will get the no neck effect when you swap.

I used RA 40 Undertaker on the Network Spotlight figure and lots of people liked it/did it too.

I put an Ultimo Dragon RA head on a Sin Cara basic. It will do the job. It might look even better if I could whip up a custom gimmick he wore on his chest.
Tried the same trick on the Mattel E23 JBL. Didn't work out so well.

R3s are just about perfect
Any other series run the risk of suffering balloonhead syndrome

I had a CS Ric Flair Head on the first Mattel Terry Funk for ages as my stand in Flair. it worked a treat.

None unless you want to repaint. Without paint the skin tones clash

The first few Ruthless sets had pinheads. They'll be pretty obvious, but take the Purple trunks Triple H. His head is teeny-tiny on that Jakks body and just perfect on a Mattel.
As someone else mentioned, you pretty much have to paint, the colors are all different and the feel of the plastic is totally different from what Mattel uses.
