-- Absolutely none.
1. If they're already retired, chances are ring rust has set in.
2. If they're already retired, something in their mind is certain that they can't perform at the level they way to any longer. This would hinder any attempt at proving yourself, your fans, ect. otherwise!
and that co-insides with 3... Time passing/Age. Just look at Taker's mobility. Or Sting's mobility, 2 years ago. This is why I'd rather see Kurt Angle performing in the ring RIGHT NOW, rather than time wasting with him as a GM. Of course, The E tends to always pull the trigger on things at most times, being the wrong time.

I still think WWE should have pulled the trigger on Sting vs Undertaker at WM31. They were both on the card in matches that made no sense.
Sting vs. Triple H was never a dream match. Nobody ever talked about that as one of the main reasons for Sting to go to WWE. The fact that Sting lost the made made it even more of a waste.
Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt made no sense either. It was really just to give Undertaker somebody supernatural to come back against. He beat Bray rather quickly and easily.
If Undertaker and Sting were both going to be on the WM31 card, and WWE and Sting had no problem with Sting losing his first, and maybe only, Wrestlemania match (even before the injury Sting said he probably wouldn't get more than one Mania match)...they should have just had the match then. Then you can have Taker still move on to the Lesnar stuff and you do whatever you want with Sting...he probably would have just retired on his own instead of having to be forced out by injury.
I'll never understand why with a 55 year old Sting they decided to try and put it off for another year. Over the age of 50, you can suffer a career ending or threatening injury at ANY TIME. Don't waste a year assuming he'll be around and fine next year. Sting could have torn a rotator cuff or blown out an ACL just training. You have to strike while the iron is hot, and at WM31, Taker and Sting were still both in good shape.
Taker proved after WM31 against Brock at SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell that he could still go, and Sting did great against Seth until the injury. I think Taker and Sting actually would have had a good match at WM31.
Missed opportunity.

Do deceased wrestlers count? Because I was rather fond of that Rock/Eddie match from Raw the night after Rock won the strap in 2002. Would've loved to have seen a program between the two.
Also,
Eddie v HBK Eddie v AJ(did they ever wrestle in RoH?) Eddie v Sting Sting v Cena Sting v UT HBK v Sting HBK v Zayn (don't ask me why on that one)
I am sure I have more so I will come back to this in the future.

Undertaker vs. Finn Balor
The Deadman vs. The Demon
It would also only be fitting for it to be in a Hell in a Cell match.
