I just received a text from @heroesandmartyrs informing me that Adam West has passed away. This is very sad news, because as Batman he was a major part of my childhood and a genuine nice man when I met him years ago at Fordham University. He will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Mr West www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/adam-west-dead-batman-star-832264

Never heard of him. I only like Marvel, so this death doesn't affect me How nice that you felt the need to waste your time posting this then...

Damn, such a heartbreaking loss. He's probably my favorite live-action Batman; absolutely adore the '66 show. Not to mention his voice work in Fairly OddParents, Family Guy, and The Simpsons.
RIP. And let us never forget the Batusi...

I'm so sorry to hear this. Also really sorry to hear because I know how genuinely fond of him you were PJSo many memories of the 60s Batman show. It was on EVERY Saturday morning here when I was a kid....and it shaped my view of Batman until well into the 90s. I loved how he spoofed himself on the Mr Plow episode of the Simpsons. Ah such a pity. R.I.P. Adam West.

I grew up in the 80’s watching re-runs of Batman everyday. Along with Adam West, a little bit of my childhood died today.
Thank you Sir, and Sleep well.

He lived a great life and he'll be sorely missed by anyone he's ever come into contact with.
I never got the chance to meet him, but I learned all about his tenure as Batman from my father who grew up watching him. My aunt would stitch together Batman and Robin costumes for my father and his nephew, my oldest cousin, so they could act out scenes from the show with imaginary bad guys. My dad being confined to a wheelchair since he was a year old due to polio really got a lot of joy out of pretending to be Batman, and to this day he'll smile when he recalls the adventures they had 50-some odd years ago.
I'll also remember him for all of the great voice work he did in his later years, especially on Family Guy. It's amazing to me not only the length of his acting career, but the variety of roles he played spanning seven decades. He left an indelible mark and there will never be another like him.

Ahhhh. I'm hurting pretty ing bad right now. I met Adam once as a kid. My dad told me: "That's the REAL Batman there!" and I was starstruck. I said hello and he was just super friendly. Such a damn shame. I know I've got a picture with him somewhere. Man was my FAVORITE part about Family Guy. Never failed to make me laugh... RIP Adam West. I love ya buddy.

This one has hit me much harder than most celebrity deaths...I put this up there with the deaths of Johnny Cash and Roddy Piper for me.
Just terrible...absolutely terrible.
Dark day.
