I wish that these figures would actually look and feel like exclusives. The ones we've gotten all scream retail to me, nothing really exclusive about the headscans, accessories etc. The RSE Shane is done very nicely imo. The RSE Sting and Baylor however... meh.

I dont agree with the small minded ideology of "get a better job" but you cant say RSE are American Exclusives if you absolutely can get them in other countries. The problem is the shipping & customs fees which Ringside has no control over. Essentially what you're asking is for Ringside or another company to foot the bill for it and that's simply not going to happen without a mark up...thus you'd still be paying more money for them. When I say "American exclusive", I mean that they're only available to order coming from America. As I'm sure others would be, I'd be perfectly content with a slight mark-up, as long as it was still cheaper than the combination of international shipping from Ringside and customs fees. Why would Ringside allow that? In addition to cutting in on their business, it violates the exclusiveness of their figure. While I am not an expert in these matters (and I'm perfectly happy to have it explained to me why I am wrong, in a polite manner), I'm sure Mattel ultimately has more power and control than Ringside. I'm sure they'd be able to work out a deal where the two parties commission the product, and then Ringside distribute them for American buyers, and a hypothetical second online store distribute them for European buyers. They would still be exclusive to Ringside in America, while they would also be exclusive to the European store in Europe. There used to be a company called Wrestling World that stocked Ringside Exclusives, and got new series in stock at the same time as Ringside. It ultimately didn't work because of the rising costs involved and the relatively small market in the UK/Europe, and they pretty much got out of the business a couple of years or so ago. The number of people willing to pay "a slight mark-up" was not sufficient to cover their importing costs.

Thank you for the explanation. If they tried before and failed, then I can't fault them for not trying again. If this is indeed still the case, I suppose I'll just have to live with it not being a feasible possibility.

They were reliable as anything through the later Jakks years and the first couple of years of Mattel, and then they faltered. One of the exclusives, either Hardcore Kane or Cactus Jack, they just forgot to order or something, and that was the first sign of it going downhill. I just checked for when they stopped. The last things I bought from them were the RSE authentic scale ring with Raw and SD ringskirts and RSE The Rock with ladder and IC title, this was in July 2014. I bought the RSE CM Punk from them on damaged card around the same time. I think the next RSE figure was Edge, and starting with him, I've had to buy them all from Ringside.

I've been in the camp of not being happy with the postage cost myself, but after playing around a bit last night think I've ordered a couple of things with the right weight to make post bearable. Over the items ordered I certainly saved compared to eBay.
Just hoping I don't get hit with a customs charge on the way in now.

Does Ringside have any say in who the exclusives are or is it mostly Mattel? Does the WWE have any say in who's an exclusive and who's a retail release? Ringside picks the wrestler and attire and they have a budget on the whole fig nick said it during ringside or riot i miss that show

I think you're missing the point of it being exclusive and someone having to foot the bill for the shipping/custom charges. RSC has an exclusive deal where they get an exclusive figures. Its done to make THEM money. They dont want Argos (only UK place I know of) selling their exclusives as it takes away from their profits. Its simple business. At the same time while Mattel sends figures everywhere, the figures from what Ive read cost most in the UK (again just using for example) because Mattel is footing the bill for the extra shipping and customs fees. The only way there is going to be an exclusive in the UK and/or for a RSC exclusive to be sold by a foreign company is for that company to foot the bill. However if Argos for example orders a Finn Balor Exclusive for $25.99 and then it takes $20 to ship it to the UK, then you, the consumer, are going to end up paying $60 for that figure because Argos is going to have to get their mark up on it. (Using US dollars of course for example)

Ringside pitches ideas and Mattel lets them know if that's an option or not. A few years ago they pitched for an elite RVD One Night Stand Exclusive but Mattel shot that down, which is a real f'ing shame (pun not intended) What was their reasoning? I believe Bill said recently that they actually have Batista & RVD under contract still Don't know the exact reason but it wasn't a contract issue. I think Mattel just didn't want to make it for whatever reason.

It's ridiculous to me that we only got 1 elite RVD. I find it interesting that ringside wanted it but mattel said no, I'd love to know more on the reasoning.
