THE BIG DOG I love her and hope she wins. I'm still pulling for Toni but damn I'm gonna be supporting Evie to the max. Really hoping that Lufisto gets a chance in this thing. She deserves it more than any other woman I can think of. Hoping to see Lufisto, Mia Yim, and Candice.

Kairi Hojo Gets New WWE Name - Announced For Mae Young Classic - Joseph Currier - @josephcurrier - F4Online.com - Jun 30, 2017 - 7:13 am.
The Mae Young Classic has added its most noteworthy name yet. Kairi Hojo , who is one of the best women's wrestlers in the world and one of the best pro wrestlers in general, was announced for the tournament this morning. The announcement was made during a video at WWE's house show at Sumo Hall in Japan. She will be using the name Kairi Sane in WWE. After reporting last year that WWE was interested in both Hojo/Io Shirai, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Hojo had signed a three-year deal with WWE in March. Shirai later agreed to join the company as well, but her coming over has been delayed due to neck issues. Hojo was expected to be in the tournament and started with WWE in Orlando earlier this month. She revealed publicly that she would be leaving Stardom in May. Also confirmed for the tournament was Scottish wrestler Viper (who will be known as Piper Niven in it). Meltzer reported that WWE was interested in her for the Mae Young Classic as well. Thats interesting given that she had been involved with ITV's World of Sport project in the UK. The list of official entrants for the 32-competitor tournament is now up to 14 names - Toni Storm, Princesa Sugehit, Lacey Evans, Sarah Logan, Tessa Blanchard, Abbey Laith, Taynara Conti, Kavita Devi, Jazzy Gabert, Bianca BelAir, Vanessa Borne, Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane, and Piper Niven. www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/kairi-hojo-gets-new-wwe-name-announced-mae-young-classic-238356

Bit odd her having a new surname which isn't too far off of 'Zayn', but fair enough...here's hoping she knocks 'em all dead as she has been doing in Stardom for some time...

Either way, she'll do great. Hopefully.

Hopefully. hmm, just heard her say it in her announcement and it sounded like she said say nee so it very well could be like Zayn. but dang it.. it should be spelled Sei ni .... which incidentally... could be "roughly" translated as strength and responsibility which would be better than the rated R version of what Sane could be translated to....

I wish they'd bring back Victoria for this. Me too! My all time favourite female wrestler. She was at Smackdown for the women's MITB rematch and she said on twitter they wouldn't let her backstage to congratulate the girls:/

Lita looks like an old hooker Compared to 20 years ago when she looked like a young hooker? I have to say Im really glad this is all fresh faces to the WWE. When they announced this I was afraid it was going to be all the women on the roster, which wouldnt be terrible but it doesnt bring anything new & fresh. They're bringing in great wrestlers from all over the world not women we see every week or a bunch of old hags from the divas cant wrestle era.

Why didn't they let Victoria backstage?

Yes definitely Veda! I have no idea! It's sad that they did that I'd love to see her return to the WWE

Just hurry up and announce Nixon Newell already.
I'd book Sane win and then challenge Asuka for the belt.
I'm happy for Lita. It's a change and they should have female commentators. Although, would have liked to see Renee on commentary again.
