I have seen some stuff painted...canvases, doors, cars, toys, pretty much everything, with paint that is so glossy and so seamless (no brush strokes) it goes from looking like a sanded mess to a solid piece of shiny, new plastic.
I'm wondering when it comes to customs, especially if you use any wood parts, how you can get this effect.
I've seen various suggestions online but was hoping someone here would have some more direct advice with photos and brand names.
A lot of what I see online is for painting something like huge...a window frame or a front door or a cabinet...and not something really small.
There are a few accessories I'd like to make for my old shiny, flat coloured favourite lines (OSFTM, Hasbro, LJN maybe) that I could do out of wood for parts of them but I don't know how to get the look I want.
I kind of wish nail polish would work, but I doubt it would. It seems to be made to go on seamless and thick and shiny. I've seen lacquer work for people even though it can be pricey and you'd need to spray it on a mat outside...but sanding in between sounds like if you were doing something small and/or oddly shaped...you might not be able to do this.
Thanks.
