There is so many to name to be honest. I would like to know the logic behind the choosing of who was and wasn't made! Probably whoever they thought was popular and/or looked "toyish" (Warlord).

Missing guys like referees, commentators and managers always bothered me, and led to guys like the Ghostbusters and The Joker becoming WWF employees in the early 90s (Ray was solid stand-in for Paul Bearer, and The Joker was an exceptional heel manager TBH) so I would probably say Jerry Lawler was the biggest omission for me. He had wrestled enough to deserve a figure I feel during the production run, but it would've been very good to have him at ringside commentating with Splinter on the in-ring action.
Diesel just missing the production run was always frustrating though, almost as much as never being able to find any of the green cards, particularly the 1-2-3 Kid.

Maybe Lawler was planned but missed the cut due to being out from the legal issues. He was gone from late 1993 to March 1994 which would've been the time the green and orange card guys would be made.

It was always fun when different figures crossed over into other realms like this. The green cards were never released here in the U.K. so were never anything more than a rumour to me and my friends. Great to have them all now, though.

They all have a sticker on the back of the cards with the relevant UK safety info and import details.

It was always my understanding that they weren't released here in the U.K. I guess a small batch made its way through before the line was pulled. You learn something new everyday! I'm based in the South West so there was never any chance of getting them here! We haven't even had a Retro figure in any of the Smyths within 100 miles.

That's an interesting thought - maybe if he'd made it to the match with the knights against the Hart family at Survivor Series '93 then perhaps we could've had him late in the series. I'd certainly have thought that he would've sold better than Bastion Booger in the orange card series. The green cards were released here but only in limited amount of Woolworths down south/London way. They all have a sticker on the back of the cards with the relevant UK safety info and import details. The first I remember seeing them was on a figure website around 96/97 that took an age to load (the good ol' days of 28.8k modems) where the seller had listed them as having been picked-up over here in the UK; I even emailed the guy asking for more info as I'd been searching like mad for new figures up here in the north, right until the Jakks figures appeared in the Index catalogue and I knew the game was lost. Never got a reply of course, but I guessed London would be the only place that could've possibly got them. Shame really, if Woolworths had got them up here then I'd definitely have gotten the lot of them, and maybe Woolworths would still be in business today

I will be visiting family in the London area in a few weeks so fingers crossed I can pick some up there. I've actually got all the ones I can at this time, however, it would be great to pick a few up in store! Thanks again.

I remember day dreaming of what the eventual figures for Lawler, Jarrett, Diesel ,Backlund ,and updated KOH Owen would look like. Even the card backs ....i was so sure those would happen. So those make my personal list of missed superstars from the run. But i do know Haku, Max Moon, Terrific Terry Taylor, Damien Demento ,Sparky Plugg,Mabel, and Hakushi were personal wants at various times during the series run as well. But thpse first five i mentioned....man i thought for sure those were a lock. And here i am 23 years later with Mattel, still hoping for a Jarrett, Owen, and Backlund. Lol

Hoping for all of those too, but doubt many will happen, Jarrett and Owen are a definite no-go. I hope we get some of them, Diesel should be an easy lock, but we'll have to wait and see how long the line goes on I guess.

Bob Backlund is a great shout - I had forgotten about him but now definitely remember missing him as a kid after he turned heel.

Can't really see it happening though, as the only Hasbro or before era wrestlers I think will be the big stars. You never know though if the line goes on for a while!

I doubt we'll ever see Backlund as a Retro release, but as an omission from the Hasbro line then I think he qualifies - though probably more in the Opie Taylor face-guise (my thanks, as ever, to Bobby Heenan ); he'd certainly returned by the time Luger debuted at the Rumble in '93 as Backland was in the match for over an hour, so there was enough time to make him before the run ended. Doubt he would've been a big seller before the heel turn though.

Yeah, he was a big part of the roster for those 6 months or so of the heel run. Other than that he was never really huge. Would loved to have had him though.

Dino Bravo is a big one, in part because I just think Hasbro would have given him an awesome, cartoony face sculpt.

They're an interesting shout - I didn't really miss them TBH, but another tag team would've been welcome. The figures would've fit in nicely given their colours, and they were there well before the Steiners, Headshrinkers and Smoking Gunns, so definitely an omission.
