I have brought this up countless times. Some relate, some don't, but this happens EVERY time to me. EVERY SINGLE ELITE CENA DOES THE SAME THING. The red/white/blue gear was my favorite Cena gear. All I did was take him out of the box and put him on a shelf. This was maybe 2 months ago? These armbands just wither away into dust. How has Mattel not done something about this yet? The armband is made sooooo cheap. ANSWER ME BILL. See pic below:

It's for added affect to show how muscular John is.

Mine did the same thing. Keeps happening.
I'm thinking about buying a basic and putting the arms on my elite.

If the armbands keep breaking why not just paint it on the figure ? Don't they do that with his basic figures ? You would think that would save money anyway.

I've learned my lesson with elite Cena figures. For every elite I buy a matching basic, swap the arms with the painted on bands and throw the bands (after removing them from the arms so they don't stretch out) into a ziplock. Shouldn't have to do this but it is what it is.

What climate do you live in? I've never had this happen and I've owned nearly every Cena there is. I would say that outside of humidity that North Carolina is not the hottest nor coldest place in the US. In fact, most of the winter I can wear a t-shirt and shorts and not be cold. Summers are only unbearable because they are swampy humid. I don't ever have to tax my ac or heat honestly. Your region may just be toxic to that kind of plastic. I agrr that it is worthless to have the bands removable. I have had some stretch and warp out of shape. Wouldn't a paint app be cheaper anyway?

I only own the BoPPV WM29, e34, and e40 and none have done this on mine.

Would superglue help at all in that instance?

Don't see Bill answering the OP due to the hostility.

I have had the teal blue cena do this , it just turned to dust basically, this was after I positioned it so it wasn't going to stretch. My neon green Cena is starting to crack, too. I have just stopped buying Elite Cenas, he gets entrance gear basics and I just trade for the hat and dog tags.

You can't put it the whole way up his arm. If you put it before it starts to stretch it won't break. Every Cena I have before E28 has no armband now but I learned how to stop it after that one

Try asking about it in the SDCC thread. Maybe ask if there's another way to mold the bands on? It may get asked

It's never happened to me but then again I live in the UK where we see the sun as often as a Brock Lesnar in ring appearance

They should either make a new Cena arm with the band molded onto it or just paint them on like wrist tape. Once the material they use dries out they crack. I have had that happen with my JLU Shade figure's top.

Perhaps if you collect these figures loose or open them up that you might try putting a bowl of water in the refrigerator over night with the figure in there it will firm up the rubber arm band. You get the same effect by putting it in the freezer for 20 minutes as well. Only thing about putting it in the freezer as opposed to the fridge is that sometimes the joints get tough to move if you leave them in too long. I do this with custom figures to avoid using glue before painting and it always seems to work for me.

I've never had one break on me after it's been opened. I've had several that were broken when I removed them from the packaging though. Kinda sucks I agree

The armbands from my E11 Barrett and E40 Cena have both done this. I much prefer the painted on armbands like on the DM Cena and the basics. Hopefully this gets sorted soon cause I don't want to buy a corresponding basic for each Elite Cena I get.
