I have no idea, what was really surprising is that there wasnt a single Taker shown at Comic Con this year, in his likely retirement year not one figure.
ABA 2000 is at the absolute top of my wants list, its been asked for since like 2012. Its mind boggling that they haven't made one yet.

I don't understand why Mattel hasn't made this figure yet Because the gimmick sucked. (But seriously though, why bother with that one when they could be making a Mania 14 Taker?)

First post here ... And I came to say, absolutely agree. Has anyone asked Mattel reps why this iconic look for Taker hasn’t been released? They’ve come out with the short hair cut, heel Big Evil version But the more iconic 2000 era jean vest, black leather trench coat, sunglasses and bandanna Kid Rock debut version is one of my favorite iterations of the character ... top three easily. And we still haven’t got it. And I don’t know what this guy above me is talking about saying it was a crappy gimmick. I have waffled over time on my stance on the regular undertaker gimmick, which is so over-the-top it borderlines on extremely cartoony and corny. The American Badass Taker was just a cool, intimidating biker dude with demonic tendencies. But not throwing lightening bolts and other cringe inducing stuff. Fake burials and resurrections, other stupid crap etc. And IMO was really just a heightened, and amplified version of Mark Calaway himself. Much the way stone cold, and the rock where those respective people with the volume turned up. Less so a gimmick. Which is why they worked so well. Hell he even managed to reinvent and tweak the power bomb into a cooler finisher. He basically proved with the American Bad Ass persona he wasn’t just a product of a cartoon Vince McMahon gimmick created for him. He could’ve took the Mark Calaway ABA style anywhere ... Time to make it happen Mattel.

I hated the biker gimmick and thought it completely tarnished his character. However it would be a cool looking figure and I would happily buy one.

Even though you hated the character and thought it tarnished his character? That would be like me buying that Elite Steve Austin Ringmaster fig that’s been rotting on shelves for eternity.

Supposedly, Vince McMahon never liked the Undertaker's biker gimmick and often pretends it never happened. It may explain why when Undertaker wrestled HHH at Wrestlemania 27 and 28, it was never mentioned that they had wrestled already at Wrestlemania X7.

That’s interesting, but it also doesn’t really surprise me. Undertaker was basically Vince’s greatest creation. He’s honestly really not that good of an idea man, he’s just a shrewd and ambitious businessman. So you’re saying they basically treated undertaker as a separate character from the American badass gimmick, by not acknowledging it their previous match at Mania ‘17? I haven’t watched wrestling since 2003. When it’s quality died in late 2002. I’ve also heard that the creation of the American badass biker gimmick was partly due to the fact that undertakers contract was about to expire, and he used it as bargaining power to show that he would be over with fans regardless even if he left the WWF and didn’t take the undertaker character with him.

I never heard of that one before. He debuted the biker gimmick in 2000 and WCW was realistically the only place he can jump to, but they were sinking fast at that time. For some unknown reason, the company has never really mentioned ABA Undertaker for the past 8-10 years although they mightve re-released a T-shirt on WWE Shop

Theres a difference. I would never buy a Ringmaster figure because it's plain and boring. However an ABA figure would look pretty epic and you could display it with the likes of Kurt Angle and Hardcore Kane.

For some unknown reason, the company has never really mentioned ABA Undertaker for the past 8-10 years although they mightve re-released a T-shirt on WWE Shop Yes told by Kevin Nash from an interview in 2015. Look it up. He said he led the team from WCW trying to lure Calaway in late ‘99 / early 2000 to their promotion with a huge contract. Obviously he wouldn’t be able to bring the Undertaker character with him, copyrighted by WWF, so he started practicing an off shoot more grounded take on it ... that he could take with him if he went to WCW. Ultimately WWF offered him a huge contract and he stayed loyal to the company. But that was part of the origin of the ABA Taker, also him being dissatisfied with where his character was going. Even though you hated the character and thought it tarnished his character? That would be like me buying that Elite Steve Austin Ringmaster fig that’s been rotting on shelves for eternity. Theres a difference. I would never buy a Ringmaster figure because it's plain and boring. However an ABA figure would look pretty epic and you could display it with the likes of Kurt Angle and Hardcore Kane. Ringmaster Austin wouldn’t be epic, you’re right because he was a boring and forgettable gimmick that wasn’t true to the man himself. American Bad Ass Taker circa 2000 - 2001 would be an epic figure, as you say. Why? Because you also contradict yourself in regards to it tarnishing his character. It was a cool fresh reinvention. It was a solid, sincere and believable take on the Undertaker. A guy who has demonic tendencies but is ultimately just a bad ass modern John Wayne who is a fighter and doesn’t take crap off people. Much like Calaway himself in the locker room. Thus why it worked in the Attitude Era. Everyone was a more adult turned up volume of themselves for the most part. It was less about corny and cartoonish gimmicks.
