I was literally just thinking about this a couple hours ago. I would take all of his WCW gimmicks but The Disciple is my number 1 choice. Make it a two pack with that Hollywood Hog- .....ooooh.

Yep. Mega Maniacs all the way. I know it's kinda weird without a Hogan, but I loved Beefcake's red-and-yellow look. This... ...to go with this... They still made the other two in "Hulk Hogan" colors, despite no longer making Hogans. Plus, HOF 2 = WM 9, aka the same event Hulk & Brutus tagged at vs. Money, Inc. during the "dual main event"/middle (5th, non-dark match) of the show, similar to Savage vs. Flair @ WM 8 from the previous year. I suppose the big difference is that Hogan ended up as a major part of BOTH main events at WM IX, as we all know. Anyway, so as long as one has HOF 2 Hogan—or rather, any yellow trunks Hogan, and several have been made by Mattel—then I think it is at least sensible to do the "Mega Maniacs" Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake, much like some have suggested.

Hogan wasn't in WWF anymore when the Ultimate Maniacs did their thing, so I'm not sure there's any connection to that Savage and Warrior despite their colors, but you're right, we did get that WMIX Hall of Fame Hogan already. So let's get a Brutus to go with it! By the way, I attended WrestleMania IX! First event I ever went to in person. I don't think there were any dark matches, IIRC. There's probably like 0.001% chance that the Booty Man, Butcher, Mariner, Run-In Man get made. People complain about Tito Santana, JYD and Sid shelf warming. Those were first time in the line figures, and bigger stars than Beefcake ever was. These would warm for years.
That said, Dream Team, Mega Maniac and Disciple seem like actual possibilities.

All 85-90 Beefcakes and a Disciple. I have no need for a Mega Maniac or all the wCw gimmicks.

Thank you in advance!}****------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, I know "Ultimate Maniacs" was not really necessarily tied to Hulkster, if at all. In reality, it is much more likely it had nothing to do with him whatsoever! However, I have heard plenty of folks suggest that the UM moniker was supposedly a working title for a Warrior/Hogan tag team to occur more often/long-term beyond Summer Slam 1991. Albeit that was allegedly halted—for good, essentially—once ol' Helwig had held up Vince just before said event, then was subsequently fired immediately thereafter. I would not doubt that some people tend to conjure those thoughts up as simply a way of justifying that second time around where Savage engaged in his so-called Hogan "cosplay" of sorts, specifically by way of color scheme. Clearly, the first time I am referring to was during the late '80s "Mega Powers" run. But yeah, I remember this legend, if you will, coming up in discussion not all that long ago—right here on WFigs, at that—in relation to how Savage & Warrior should have been deemed "Ultimate Madness" instead. Pertaining to that particular notion, I do happen to concur wholeheartedly on that one, as I definitely believe it would have been a lot more logical/fitting! I simply cannot take credit for the pensive pondering about it, you see. Anyhow, there were also claims about the nickname being merely a holdover—from the recent past, especially when considering the time frame between both occurrences, of course—preferred by Vince, or something along those lines. I suppose there could be truth/relevance to the "rumor & innuendo", if I may borrow a popular-these-days podcast phrase favored by Bruce Prichard. Additionally, on the other topic of WM IX, apparently there was indeed a dark match: El Matador vs. Papa Shango. (I shall share more on that later, via a photo below.) That contest was actually in fact a repeated match from several months prior at Summer Slam 1992. However, there were two distinct differences. First, the previous clash was somewhat recorded as bonus Summer Slam card material, at least to an extent. I mean it was actually filmed anyways, along with what I believe may have been dubbed commentary voice-over work via both Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan & Vince McMahon, likely as footage for some later Coliseum Video release. Then again, perhaps they did call it live onsite, despite technically being a dark match by definition in that it was not included as part of the pay-per-view program itself. The second, clear contrast was that Santana went over in their latter bout, whereas Shango had won the earlier match-up. Obviously, the one at WM IX was forgettable, as well as something surely most fans are/were not even aware of, just as I was not until a few years back, myself. That one was almost assuredly far from memorable, I would imagine. This is really emphasized & epitomized when one realizes that someone who was in attendance does not have any recollection of "Flying Jalapeño Bull Fighter" vs. "Voodoo Master Witch Doctor" @ WM IX! I cannot fully express just how hilarious I find your non-remembrance to be, despite my feeling a bit bad for chuckling at poor Tito's misfortune(s)! After all, the dude cannot catch a break. I mean at this point even HE probably would not buy a discounted Target HOF 2 figure on clearance, in all likelihood! Then again, he did once defeat The Undertaker (circa 1991), so I guess he will always be able to fondly bring up such a bragging right worthy of boastful gloating. By the way, Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Kamala was also advertised for WM IX, but got canceled due to time constraints. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As promised above, here is some Papa-Pimpin'-Picture-Proof: Aren't you glad you were there to witness it?!!??!!?

Wow, even with that picture I have no recollection of that match. I was a fan of El Matador, too, and my dad was a fan of Papa Shango, so you'd think we'd remember. I mean, I was pretty young and my seats were terrible, but I'd still swear it opened with Shawn vs. Tatanka. And I certainly remember the cancelled Kamala/Bam Bam match. My dad was a fan of Kamala so that was a letdown. (My dad was into really bad gimmicks, I guess.) I watched the WMIX behind-the-scenes from a couple years back (WWE Network? DVD?) hoping it would reveal something about what happened to that match but it wasn't as enlightening as I hoped. Regarding the Ultimate Maniacs and Mega Maniacs, I always told myself that So-and-So Maniacs is what Vince called a team that he threw together and was only going to last for a match or two. ****{DISCLAIMER: hbchris , please pardon this long-winded post of elongated elaboration, but you piqued my interest, and I enjoyed your anecdote as well!
