IMO, I think so due to the fact that Triple H was reportedly not a fan of the Slammy Awards and with the brand split, the feeling was that it didn't fit in with WWE's New Era. Thoughts?

Don't know if he's responsible for it, but I really can't say I'd miss it. The only time for me when the Slammy's' were fun, was when they were they're own show, and presented as an actual award show, with the talent dressed up, and it being done like in a hall, instead of just being part of Raw, as a way to grab ratings.

The way you phrase that with no proof sounds like a typical 2004 anti-Triple H thread.

I heard that he personally wasn't a fan of WWE Magazine. Specifically the Jerk of the Month section. And in turn killed it for that very reason.

I liked the Slammy's when it was done the night before WM. It would be cool to incorporate the HOF with the Slammys, just shorten the HOF inductees.

The brand split was the main issue. The last thing the company needed was a mix branded Raw merely months after the split.

I have it on good authority from my neighbor, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knew a guy that was a janitor at Titan Towers that claimed Triple H would spend endless nights in his office, bemoaning his hatred for Cody Rhodes. So much so that he was the mastermind behind making him Stardust, and banning him from using the 'Rhodes' name outside of WWE.

Or due to the brand split, it wasn't necessary anymore.

I found it stupidly corny, I'm not gonna miss it in any way.

If it wasn't for the Slammy's, we'd never have gotten this classic. We need more Slammy Awards.

Basically the Slammys are just something else, that at one point, could be entertaining like Vinces performance or the Race/Duggan brawl, or help in actually building up a wrestler, like Owen becoming a 2 time Slammy Award winner, by just taking the statue, he was supposed to be presenting, and then bragging about it all year long. Ever since they were brought back, as a Raw special, the Slammys have just been dumb. Yeah, there was always joke categories, but now you had categories, for crowd chants, and hashtags. And you'd also have winners that made no sense. Like in 2015, with Neville winning Breakout Star of the Year over Kevin Owens, when he in no way had a breakout year, and really didn't have anything done with him after winning, either. If Triple H is responsible for the Slammys, as they have been over the past several years, being killed, then I saw, thank you Triple H.

I wouldn't mind if they held it in the Performance Center or at Full Sail as an actual awards ceremony. Not we get "Highspot of the Year" followed by The Authors squashing someone in two minutes then some other random award.

I hope he did, I didn't even notice that the last Slammy Awards was at the end of 2015, and there was nothing in 2016, unless there were and it passed me by?, it had no lasting impact on me. It just became a very meh thing.
If they want to do garbage stuff like say the Usos were tag team of the year when the New Day were having their prime year, or have a category called "Tell Me You Didn't Just Say That" Insult of the Year" and two of the nominees are "Dean Ambrose calls Seth Rollins "Justin Bieber" on Raw. (May 25)" & "Seth Rollins calls Johnny Manziel "Johnny Idiot Face" on Raw. (June 15)" then what Triple H did was a great thing.
However, if they did it right and made it a special event on the award winning WWE Network and had legitimate categories with real results it could absolutely be done right and actually have some weight to it.
Suggestions: Superstar of the Year (Best overall male or Female - This could be used as bragging rights) Match of the Year Male Superstar of the Year Female Superstar of the Year Tag Team of the Year Rookie of the Year Promo of the Year
(Assume 'of the Year' follows so I don't have to keep typing it)
Entrance Theme Entrance (A Finn Balor or WrestleMania entrance is in mind) Attire Network Original
There are a plethora of legitimate categories that can be made and not something like "LOL Moment of the Year." I think of these possibilities and how happy I would be personally to watch this especially if there was some legitimacy behind it and get upset that it won't happen or if it does its just going to go to people like Roman or forced media attention things like "#DivasRevolution."
