The title isn't as bad as it sounds.
I sold a four Ringside Exclusives together (Kane, Mysterio, Punk and Macho Man) accessories, display stands and name tags for $110. All loose by the way. However when I shipped the figures I forgot to add Macho Man's sunglasses, which the buyer asked about. Apart from that, he was more than happy with the figures. I shipped the glasses a few days later.
This is where things get sticky.
The envelope got wet mid transit and the sunglasses have gone missing.
Do I refund the cost of the figure (not brand new) or a few dollars for the glasses?

Crap That sucks for both of you. On your end it's just a cheap pair of glasses but on the other end it makes the figure so incomplete. I think you should both try to agree on a fair way to settle based off each of your own priorities.

I would just refund a little extra for the glasses or offer to see if you can find a pair on classifieds to have sent to him.
actually, which RSE Macho was it? King had Gold glasses and the nWo one had nWo glasses

As tempted as I am to just not reply to the buyer, I'll ask him if a small refund, no more than $5 will do. I would just refund a little extra for the glasses or offer to see if you can find a pair on classifieds to have sent to him. actually, which RSE Macho was it? I've passed on figures that don't have the Sunnies if they aren't readily available and cheap on eBay. If you try and find the pair on eBay you'll get a good idea of what they're worth to complete the figure.

That's why I switched to poly bubble bags. I always worried about the paper envelopes ripping. If it was me, I would give him a choice of a partial refund for the glasses or full refund if he returns the figure. It really depends on how important the glasses are to him. If he's unreasonable and wants a big refund for the glasses, I would tell him to send the figure back. You might have to eat the return shipping cost, though.

That sucks, but as a buyer I'd be extremely upset if your offering me $5 back on a pair of glasses that are kind of hard to replace. The more common white/black pair sells for $10 on the bay, these would be much higher than that I assume.

Refund him a couple bucks for the glasses, if he makes a fuss tell him to send the macho back & refund him accordingly.

He got a ridiculously good deal on those. I'd apologize but I wouldn't offer up any money if I were in your shoes. Maybe see if you have another accessory he needs.
Or you could offer his money back in return for your figures. My money says he won't do that.

Ship in a box next time. Never send in an envelope He shipped the glasses after the fact. I always ship figures in boxes too, but I wouldn't waste an entire box for one small pair of sunglasses.

Just emailed the guy and told him I'd refund him $5 or $27 for the figure if he returned it. Ask him what he considers fair. And use that as a jumping off point. That way you know if hes cool or gonna be unreasonable...

I'd give him back $5, but no way should you refund the whole figure. The price you gave him overall is a very good deal. I don't think it would be that hard to also repaint the macho glasses into the teeth looking ones with some tape.
