Ok, we all know Baron should have succeeded in last night's cash in because not too many can stand Mahal. If they were pulling a trigger last night, on Mahal, hell yeah. I've grown to enjoy Jinder, but the briefcase always adds an interesting element of surprise, and I'm in the minority of enjoying the guy.
The timing was bad. Baron lost. Moving on to an idea.
I know RAW is running the four way. And until last night, popular theory was Corbin cashes in on Nakamura at SS. We get a three way at a later date, then whatever happens happens. So what if Baron won last night?
One could argue Cena/Corbin becomes the title match, and Nakamura and Jinder both get a shot later. Better idea.
WWE likes to shoot from the hip. They like surprise factors when they get the opportunity to have them (see Jinder winning the title in the first place). Had the show run over last night for Shane to come out and speak, what if Baron wins. He has to defend Sunday against Cena. And Jinder. And Nakamura. Five days after becoming champion, Baron has to defend against three of the biggest, most over (for better or worse) stars in WWE. I know RAW has the four way no one quite knows the ending to, but holy hell SmackDown could have topped that even if the names weren't as big. RAW is just gonna be a drag out fight. SmackDown however, would have told one hell of a story.
Does Corbin have what it takes to be a fighting champ, going against all possible odds in his first defense five days after winning the gold? Can Cena, plagued by a loss to Shinsuke and the pressure of number 17 pull it together and make history? Can Jinder prove his reign was not a fluke, and regain what is seemingly rightfully his? Can Nakamura, who's never been on the big stage for WWE, complete his meteoric masterpiece fighting against a bitter rival, pissed off former champ, and the most accomplished champion in history?
Mind you, I think this could have been better suited to have somehow happened last week for at least one week of build, but with five days left...the HOLY CRAP WHAT IS GOING ON roller-coaster ride we almost went on last night? THAT is shock value hype. I think WWE missed the mark on something that very well, for true wrestling fans, could have overshadowed the casual hype of the (albeit likely entertaining) bar room brawl RAW is giving us Sunday.

I'm perfectly fine with Corbin losing last night. While I do like him, he's not ready yet. Yeah, neither was Jinder, but two wrongs don't make a right. Plus, it helps makes it so that the MITB cash-in doesn't equal a guaranteed championship win.
Ultimately, the prospect of Nakamura going over Jinder on Sunday is far more exciting to me - for the present and for the next few months - than a potential four-way or Corbin getting a run would've been.

Corbin has massive heat according to WOL because of the way he uses his Twitter. This is WWE's way of punishing him for being a edgy 14 year old on Twitter.

I like Corbin but nah. You can't change the entire main event scene on the go home show of your 2nd biggest event of the year.
I also don't mind him losing but it better turn out to be the making of him.

My main issue is that Nakamura may walk out of Summerslam as the World champion. Now that would be an awful idea because he has been a major disappointment and should not be near the top championship anytime soon.
It has also put a damper on Summerslam because Corbin casting his shadow over both main events would've had a great feel.

I'm fine with it because it was a nice change from the cash in being almost guaranteed. Also I like Corbin but he isn't ready. And a premature title run could hurt him long term more than help. I.E. Jack Swagger.

Corbin basically says "Well, you, I ed your mom last night." in response to anything negative. He's like a whiny little Call of Duty kid.

Maybe that's how it was supposed to go down, but the WWE had to punish a grown man for acting as heel on social media to people. When you know, he plays a heel in the ring in WWE.
Here's an idea, how about the WWE says, "nobody can do social media anymore" because apparently lines are getting blurred in what is acceptable and what isn't for these guys and gals to say.

They're just looking to start rumors as per usual when something unexpected happens in the company

as Ive said in my other threads. Borin Corbin is as stale as 3 week old bread. If they can do something with him before then, I dont mind a title reign but he's no where near needing to sniff the belt right now.

Think about it some journalist attacks a HEEL online and yet the heel is in the wrong for responding. Thankfully these guys are given scripts because one wrong word in a promo would be a severe punishment.

You guys really think Corbin is in the dog house though, dirt sheets aside? That did seem like a huge waste regardless.

Probably BS. If Cena goes over him decisively? Probably true. Also, as a Flyers fan... GO TO HELL!

I would have been fine with Corbin cashing in and winning, but by no means do I think him losing is a reflection on him. I see it as a story telling device. Like now losing his money in the bank can set him off on a rampage. My guess is that's the plan. However, I do have faith WWE creative will botch the execution of telling that story.
What I really disliked was the timing. If they had done this last week, next week, or at Summerslam then fine. But doing it on the go home show kinda serves no purpose in my eyes. Now that extra bit of suspense in the title match is gone and they don't have time to use it to further the feud with Cena. Also, the execution of the actual cash in was poorly done. It was too slow and obvious.

If it leads to Nakamura leaving SummerSlam as WWE Champion, then I'm all for it.
