Yesterday afternoon a photo on Twitter got some attention as The Undertaker was seen flying from Texas to New York, home of today'a Summerslam event. A story was also put up this weekend where Jim Ross claims The Undertaker never retired, and that he could show up at anytime. After an emotional and fitting Wrestlemania send off earlier this year, could The Undertaker be back for another ride? “Until he says he’s done he’s not done. I think Vince McMahon is a marketing genius. He’s not going to miss any opportunity to monetize and maximize this amazing investment in this legacy of The Undertaker. Until The Undertaker says he’s done and it’s validated by the company and is signed off in that essence, for lack of a better term, I still say Undertaker is active and could return and wrestle at any time.” - Ross. www.google.com/amp/s/www.cagesideseats.com/platform/amp/wwe/2017/8/19/16173664/jim-ross-says-undertaker-active-could-return-wrestle-any-time

It has just been sad to watch him ever since his one on one with Ambrose. After that I have just felt more sorry than excited to see Undertaker. Dude can't go anymore. I admire his passion and drive, but man, know your limits, know when it's time to hang it up. One off appearances are cool, but never wrestle again.

The guy doesnt show up during the road to Wrestlemania to build his match, but he will show up all of a sudden at Summerslam?

He put his hat and coat in the middle of the ring and kissed Michelle at Mania. If that doesn't scream retirement...

Why can't they just leave Mark alone...

As much as id love for Taker to wrestle one more time at Wrestlemania so i could see his final match live, he's done.

Wasn't it mentioned a few months ago that he'd be getting surgery in New York? Regardless, the timing couldn't of been coincidental.

I believe that once he dropped his hat and coat in the ring Vince instantly regretted it because the Raw after Mania Cole said 'Is this the last we have seen The Undertaker. Now why said that if he was retired and put doubt in everyone's mind? Also lately Roman has kept saying that he retired The Undertaker so that could possibly be leading to him returning and getting revenge on Reigns.
Lets be honest is the WWE ready to lose The Undertaker?

I'll be honest I love the undertaker and he's definetly one of my favorites, but watching him and Reigns go at it last wrestlemania was that of a newcomer beating a dead mule. In other words it was like seeing my childhood come to an end and realize that things don't last forever. The Undertaker put on a fight and a show, but now I'm more concerned he'll get injured during one of these matches. I know a lot of folks say this and I've haven't wanted to because we never got Sting vs the undertaker, but I think it's time to give him a proper send off.

The dude is a grown man and on WWE Mt. Rushmore. If he's not done that's his decision.
If he returns tonight it'll be the loudest pop on the show. By far.

Taker calls 90% of his own shots. So if he's there ready to go, that's his call.
For me personally, I think his age had caught up with him. And I fear the more he sticks around the worse he'll look. I just don't want him to tarnish his own legacy.

In my opinion he should have given it up after WrestleMania 30. I haven't really enjoyed any of his matches very much since WrestleMania 29. He's just getting too old now. At the same time, I really do admire his passion, and of course it's his choice if it's really what he wants to do.
But why go to all the trouble of strongly indicating retirement at WrestleMania 33 if it wasn't really retirement?

That match was amazing and 20-0 just sound great. As much as I would love to see taker at summerslam tonight I doubt it. Maybe he's just visiting?

I don't think he'll be appearing tonight. That picture could be from any time and who even says that flight is going to NY? The Undertaker is one of my favorites of all time, probably second behind Austin. His previous two runs were the first time I really thought he looked to be in a bad way. He couldn't even walk leading up to WrestleMania this year, and probably needed to be shot up with God knows what just to be able to make it through the Rumble and his WrestleMania match. Roman doesn't deserve to be the one to retire him, but at this point it's just better for it to end the way that it did. I think he's done. The reason they haven't officially said he's done is because they have no real reason to. If he does want to come back for one more run, he will. But the company also knows they can still get people's hopes up over surprise appearances every now and then when stuff like this happens.

I wish he'd done the hat and coat thing at WrestleMania 30 and we hadn't had to watch that appalling match with Roman as his farewell. The streak ended and Taker should have ridden into the sunset then. He could have done the entire farewell run he did last year with his multiple matches with Brock and all the dick kicks in the world in 2013/2014, but he should have left then.

His match with Reigns at Mania this past year was crap! Taker was blown up, tired and missed spots.
The dude can retire now, I won't miss him. Taker doesn't really fit in with this era of wrestling anymore. Same with Orton and Cena though. They can all retire as far as I am concerned.

See this is where the internet has ruined me as a wrestling fan. I want everyone to have a classic match when it comes time for their retirement. His match vs Roman was not a classic. It also should have been the turn for Roman. I know, too many people cry "Turn Roman heel!" But if you are going to be the man to retire Taker, to put him down and brag about it, you can't be a "good guy."
For some reason I always thought Undertaker would retire at Survivor Series. So I'd be fine with them going with that. But not in another loss to a babyface Roman. Doing it again would serve no purpose.

The Deadman is retired... but the American Badass could still be return.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. His match with Reigns wasn't that good and was somewhat a weak way for his character to go out. I always thought his final match would be promoted as such. The Mania ending made it look like he was done.
That being said, maybe it was done that way so people wouldn't expect him to return. I'm also wondering if he is returning tonight and that was what they wanted to protect about the finish of the main event.
