The 2K name I'm really bored of now. I am hoping at somepoint they gave each game individual names like Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes The Pain

I'm perfectly fine with them keeping it simple. I was never a fan of those names.
"What game are you playing?" "Shut Your Mouth!" "Wow, that's just rude, you dick!"
Not an actual conversation, but one I can easily imagine happening. I just never thought those were good names for a game.

With the brand split back I thought it'd be neat if Smackdown Vs. Raw made a return

It's lazy to be honest and I prefer wrestling games to be named after something in the company. Years back you had IYH, Warzone, WM 2000, No Mercy, Smackdown etc and it gave each game it's own identity. Put it like this No Mercy is considered one of the greatest WWE games of all time and it was named after a PPV.
WWE 2K just sounds lame and repetative. Even Smackdown Vs Raw would sound a lot better because it actually means something.

The name isn't the problem. Yukes and having 10+ year old animations still in the game are the problems. You can call the game whatever you want, but unless a complete overhaul of the graphics, gameplay, and they re-animate EVERY SINGLE MOVE IN THE GAME, it's just renaming the same product.
And honestly, I don't have a problem with the name. Every other franchise of games uses the same name every year. It's called brand recognition. (Madden, NBA, NHL, MLB The Show). Even Call of Duty is Call of Duty every of year, it's just Call of Duty: Secondary tag line.

I don't see how changing the name will make it better. They need to completely start over again.

Yukes has been the developer for 10+ years and has really only made wrestling games (aside from two other projects) and they haven't evolved in forever. It's time to let 2K sign on with a new developer.

I would like a name change. I already hate that it's a yearly release, which is a built in excuse to cut corners, but having the year attached just reminds me more. I know they'll never stop yearly releases, they would miss out on a lot of money. But maybe come up with awesome titles.

I wouldn't mind subtitles but I like it just being WWE 2KXX. Like this year I wouldn't care if they called it WWE 2K18: Burn it Down. Next year have Braun on the cover and call it WWE 2K19: I'm Not Finished With You

The least of the games problems. A non-issue.

I wish they'd go back to catch phrases. I can't wait to play... WWE: How Ya' Doin' WWE: BELEE DAT, BBYGURL WWE: Face That Runs The Place WWE: BOOTY-O WWE: Any man with two hands has a chance to play this game WWE: IT'S BOSS TIME WWE: Looking Real Jacked Baby WWE: Please welcome my guest at this time

While I liked the old games and their names, you could only do catchphrase games for so long. In this day and age they'd just sound corny considering how bad some wrestlers' catchphrases are. Keeping it simple with 'WWE' and the year is perfect in my opinion. Like Fifa. Sometimes less is more.

I feel that WWE 12/17 have basically been the same game that's rereleased every year with updated rosters and slightly different features. Changing the names would give each game their own stand out identity because take Shut Your Mouth and HCTP for example. 2 similar games with the same gameplay but felt completely different from each other because they had their own names. Names like Summerslam, Backlash or even Main Event would be perfect for game titles.

Nevermind a name change, I'd like to see them go back to different games for different consoles. That concept gave us the N64 era-inspired GameCube games.

2K need to get a second developer like many other annual franchises has. This way the team has a two year development cycle and it stops us getting the exact same game every year.
Yukes have made some fantastic WWE games, but they have clearly gone as far as they are either willing to or can do. Maybe if they had two years and another develoepr working on a WWE game, it would light a fire under them and they could give us something better.

Honestly, if they put as much effort into each yearly game going forward as they did with 2K18, the future of the series looks very bright to me. 2K18 was such a huge step-up in quality in my opinion.

Not an actual conversation, but one I can easily imagine happening. I just never thought those were good names for a game. I was probably 6 the first time I seen the commercial for that game, I ran into the living room, and asked my mom, “MOM, can I get WWE SmackDown —“ and she tried interrupting me to probably tell me no, but I kept going and said “Shut Your Mouth?!” And she smacked my mouth and I cried a little and was like “that’s the name of itttt!”
