I enjoyed the new version. I do want to watch the 1990 version too.

I enjoyed the new version. I do want to watch the 1990 version too. It was my favorite horror film. I bought it recently and rewatched it for the first time in a few years. Honestly I think I like the new one more. The original is still classic tho

Just got around to watching it in full instead of just clips.
I enjoyed it for what it was but this pennywise just wasn't scary to me and they stripped away a lot of importance of the characters. I felt like the only character, aside from pennywise obviously, worth giving any focus was Richie because he seemed to have had the most lines.

This was a total misfire. Nothing about Pennywise was scary and it's a sad state of affairs when horror is so heavily concerned with jump scares. I thought the direction in this one was really, really bad. Also filled with so many horror movie cliches it was pretty surprising.
The only thing that saved it is how great/natural the acting was. It's too bad this crew couldn't have been utilized by someone more competent. Unfortunately this didn't do it for me at all and also makes me immensely nervous about Pet Sematary which is one of my favorite books.
I knew from the trailer what I was getting myself into though and I went anyways so it's kind of my own fault haha
