Now 58 are deceased, 500 wounded. I just saw some footage of it. I'd post it here, but it was very disturbing & profanity-laden. From the sounds of the gunfire, I'm guessing he was using an assault rifle. One sounded possibly like an AK-47. It sounded like a silenced rifle to me, which doesn't really make that much sense. Did he hope people would just fall over and no one would be the wiser? Probably trying to hide his location for as long as possible, considering he did this from the 32nd floor of a hotel and didn't even have the balls to be on the ground.

columbine happened 18 years ago, and nothing has really changed.
while gun control is a large part of the issue, the overall violent society that the u.s. harbours is a major factor on why these types of shootings are so prevalent there. america is sick, and it’s own ego disallows it from trying to fix the problem.

If we weren't outraged enough to change anything when a bunch of little kids were murdered by a white man, we aren't going to change anything now, that's for sure.
The US has been lapped by several other countries when it comes to taking care of its citizens in many areas. The U.S. is no longer the leader of the free world that it believes it is and there is no sign of that changing any time soon.

Of course the other spin on this is to blame mental illness, instead of archaic gun laws, gun lobbies, or decades of inaction by our lawmakers.
Well at least we can use our healthcare to treat our mental illness....oh wait....

Sorry for asking a valid question. Here, I’ll fix it:
“Terrible day for America. Terrorism needs to be stopped. My thoughts and prayers go out to those effected by this horrible incident. How could someone do this to innocent people!?”

I will never, for the life of me, understand what would drive a person to do this.

I just want to say, "Gun laws" would play zero effect to this. Rape is illegal, yet it happens. Can't ban sex organs. Certain drugs are illegal, and usage is at epidemic rates. The fact is, you could out right ban all weapons, and regulate the sales of plastic utensals, Life always finds a way. If someone wants to do this, they will. I don't have a solution to make all sides happy. Having less guns makes it harder for events like this, the flip side is people would have a much harder time defending/protecting themselves in home invasions, and evens were a leathal weapon would need go be inserted for protection.
Lets keep it peacful.

Lets keep it peacful. I disagree that it would play zero effect. There is no item you can buy in the store that lets you rape 50 people in a matter of seconds, thankfully. A ban on guns would dramatically reduce the number of fatal shootings, especially mass shootings. Not even the most hardcore anti-gun advocate thinks that it will eliminate it to zero, and that some criminals won't find them in their hands anyway. But it will stop your average person from flipping out, and say, shooting a school full of children, or flipping out and going to their employer and mowing down everyone, or some kid mowing down people in a theater, or a seemingly normal guy shooting at a crowded concert from the 30th floor of a hotel balcony. Just because it won't stop ALL gun related murders or crimes, doesn't mean we shouldn't try, or strive to be better. Yes, people who want to kill will often find some way to kill someone. But that doesn't mean we have to make it easy for them, especially by letting them easily obtain weapons of war.

I don't know the details They haven't released the exact models but they have confirmed at least one was modified, and it is believed that he likely had a trigger crank which can make a semi-automatic rifle fire as if it was fully automatic. They found 16 rifles and a handgun in the hotel, and 18 firearms, explosives, and thousands of rounds of ammo in his home.

All banning guns will do is further push people to build bombs. A (good/decent) AR-15 will cost you about $500...You can build a pressure cooker bomb for less then $40. The OKC bomb cost less then $5k which is nothing really when anyone with a half decent credit score can get a personal loan for.
Reality is, there are aprox 6 million illegal immigrants in the United States, people say Trump could never deport them because there's so many....How do you expect to put gun laws/gun bans on over 300 million guns already in peoples hands? Its just simply not gonna happen.
This is the world we live in now. No law is going to change that.

Why does anybody need a semi-automatic weapon?
It's sickening that we have a country full of buffoons raised on Rambo who think guns make them heroes.
