Just a question to those older guys who shave and have facial hair. What are you steps of grooming your facial hair? I for one if I have a thick beard I used a electric shaver to get it down to stuble and trim my beard and mustache. Then I wet my face then apply Dr. Carver's Shave Butter and use the Executive 6 blade razor from Dollar Shave Club and rise my face after and used after shave.

Probably my most invested hobby other than wrestling figures, lol! I like a clean shave and don't usually sport any stubble/facial hair past 3 or 4 days. I start with Proraso pre shave creme, it helps to soften the hair and condition the skin for the shave ahead. After that settles for a couple of minutes, I brush on some Proraso shave soap after having mixed it in a small bowl with warm water. As for blades, like you I am just using the Executive from Dollar Shave Club. Happy grooming!

I do clean shaves. Im lucky that I dont have thick facial hair, nor does it grow quickly. I get to shave about once a week. Ive always used Gillette Mach-whatever but they're stupid expensive for blades. I went with cheap disposable blade and they made my face break out like crazy. Recently Ive gone to Harry's and they've been fantastic. They're cheap (like $10 for 4 cartridges) but they still give a great shave.

I tend to shave every week or every other week because my hair grows back fast.

Braun series 5. I use the trimmer to get the hairs short and then the razor to shave em off. I keep a goatee. When the goatee goes wild, I hit it with a sperate trimmer with a guard that makes it look clean again. I shave 5 days out of the week. Ugh.

I just got a trimmer, shave 3 times a week. Don't care for facial hair because I look homeless as it is.

If you clean shave, a gilette mach 3 is great, been using those blades for years and they give a good close comfortable shave. I tried the beard thing but missed the shaving ritual.

I use Braun Elite 52
Nah but I've head a beard for 16 years. I despise my face without one and the last time I was (accidently) clean shaven I refused to leave the house until it grew back. I shave my neck and cheeks as it somehow makes me look slimmer. I stopped shaving my neck about two years ago and just use an electric beard trimmer instead. Shaved neck looked and felt great for about a day then I got a dirty bumpy itchy shaving rash. I tried every product ever put on a shop shelf but could not get rid of the rash. Why shave it when a rash looked dirtier than hair?
So yes, beard trimmer. Haven't used a blade or shaving foam in 2 years.

Ever since I've physically been able to grow face furniture, I've never been clean shaven. So well over 13/14 years. However, once it grows to a certain point and starts to look a bit unruly, I take it down with an electric hair trimmer to slightly more than a stubble. This is usually every couple of months.
I wouldn't say I'm lazy but I just don't want to shave every day. Besides, I like my look and I think I'd detest myself without a beard. The trick to not looking homeless though is to take care of your appearance (as in clothes and stuff) and have well groomed hair. That way, everything about you looks intentional and that you do actually care about your appearance.

I just trim my beard once a week with an electric trimmer and the. Shave my mustache, cheeks, and my neck and keep that cleaned up.

I usually let my facial hair grow depending on what character I am cosplaying as.
When I do shave clean, I use a Remington beard trimmer, model # PG 350. That usually leaves me with a slight stubble. Then I wash my face with soap & water & shave raw (without shaving cream) with a Gillette Mach 3 blade. Then I sometimes use witch hazel as a rinse, then wash with soap & water again.

I literally just shave with a Mach 3 every other day. Very simple. Usually I take a few weeks off for Xmas from work so I'll go 3-4 weeks without shaving then. But the rest of the year it's a clean shave.
