Has anyone realized how much more motivated Dean has been the past few weeks since he's been with Rollins along with The Shield reformation? Ambrose has been great in his singles run but it's been clear there have been times where he's been in autopilot or just not into what he's doing. When Ambrose was in The Shield, he was never in autopilot. It's as if this Shield reformation has breathed life into him that's been slowly draining out the past 3 years.

I don't know if it is Ambrose or just WWE holds him back when he's on his own. WWE probably gives him more freedom when he is in the shield because it helps Roman. He does seem more gritty now he's back in the shield. More like Moxley!!!

You'd be on autopilot too if you were stuck in a seemingly never ending feud with Miz.

I think Ambrose feeds off direction. When he has it, there are few better. Without it, he's just bored.
I'm hoping he's the one that turns heel next. If properly unleashed, he could easily be the best thing in wrestling. Plus feuds with Roman, Seth, Balor, or even Nakamura, could all be potentially great.

Disagree completely. What Ambrose needs is the company to put their complete trust in him and let him act like himself and be more serious. They to that, and they'll have a star on their hands. Will they? Of course not. But you saw how over he was when they let him be serious at the beginning of his WWE Title reign. He was never allowed to be that way after the draft. They've just put him in the most nonsensical feuds with zero direction or long-term payoff. I don't blame him at all for being uninterested.

The company has failed to pull the trigger on him multiple times. He's a guy who should be a much bigger deal than he is right now. So many stop/starts, jobbing to Bray, working with lazy Lesnar, and never getting a proper main event slot have hurt him. You're forgetting that at one time 2 years ago his merch was #1 selling. I think WWE's sole purpose of getting the Shield back together was to get Roman over with the crowd, but as you can see, every time he opens his mouth they boo him to shreds.

Ambrose was my favourite member of The Shield and prefer him when he was in it than to what he did after. Can say the same for all three though. He always came off as a bit unhinged and weird like his indy persona and his promo's were electric. When they bottled it up and labeled it, forcing things like Ambrose Asylum, Lunatic Fringe etc. It became a bit eh. He's done very well and by no means do I think he 'needs' The Shield, but I do find all three to be better when together.

I guess it depends on which way you look at it.
If we're talking crowd reaction, then no, not really. Ambrose is very popular with or without the Shield.
If we're talking motivation/general demeanor, maybe. Ambrose definitely seems more motivated the last couple of weeks, but I don't think it's translating to any measurable difference in crowd interest/response, since they love him anyway.

I noticed it last night. Whenever he’s motivated, Ambrose is one of the most entertaining guys on the roster, but when he’s not, he’s boring as hell. Keep Dean motivated and he’ll keep on doing great.

There have been times where Ambrose has been great post-Shield (feud with Rollins, feud with KO,, feud with HHH, Kingpin of SD, feud with AJ), but when he gets stuck in these endless feuds that go nowhere for months, yeah, he tends to seem bored. But who wouldn't be? Because surely they can tell just as much as us when an angle has no heat. I think it's pretty clear this is all a setup for Ambrose to turn, and I can't wait for it. As long as WWE don't squander it, Ambrose could easily be the top heel in the company.

so badly miscast. If this guy was given the opportunity to be a heel, he would be a MONSTER heel. This company would be minting money with feuds between him and Rollins, Finn, you name it.

Ambrose needs a comb the most.
This Shield reunion is putting Roman or is an attempt to put him in a good light with the IWC and I think that's most important and what they want.

He’s fine on his own when they let him be himself. When he first went solo in 2014 he was gold. Then they wanted to turn him into “wacky” Dean Ambrose and that combined with bad booking has hurt him over the years. Dean himself said during the Austin podcast that he’s tried pitching ideas over the years and has received push back on a lot of things (the Brock match and promos being the biggest).
Despite all this Dean has remained consistently over (unlike Roman). He’s fine without the Shield.

Ambrose definitely benefits the most from it, as he's the only one of the three that really failed as a top guy (and is the one the company has least faith in as a top guy) so this is a reset for him. At WrestleMania, he was in a kickoff match with Corbin while Roman and Seth faced Undertaker and HHH in the featured matches. Now is his chance to stand alongside them, raise his game and get another shot at that main event level.

Honestly the only time I’ve cared about Ambrose is when he’s doing something with the other Shield members.

Yeah and he still sucks ladyballs. Been sick of Ambrose's octopus-limb routine for ages.
Thought they looked stupid back in SWAT gear, should have saved it for the PPV only.

I'm a huge Ambrose fan and will always support him but the WWE have put him through some crap over the years. In 2014 he was the best thing on the roster and the number 1 merch seller but over the years they have mellowed him too much. Instead of being a hardcore madman he has turned into a goofy comedy guy.
Not all is lost though the real Ambrose is still in there and I believe a heel turn is what's needed.
