Been trying to finish off my moc collection but the prices are rocketing, I think this is the highest I have ever seen the Hasbros go for, even figures like Virgil fetching around £50. I need around 35 moc figures to complete but with the prices now I'm never going to do it. Anybody else find these prices extremely high?

im a loose collector and the prices for those are even ridiculous. I've seen MOC go at silly prices too. But you do have guys in the community and fb groups that sell MOC at reasonable prices.

This was discussed a few months back too, and I think it's because of the retros being released and peaking intrest in the Hasbros again. I started buying again soon after I heard of the retros coming out.
Any thoughts if prices will stay steady, go up or go back down at some point? I wonder if the retro excitement will fade out and people will sell off again. I know I'm sorta feeling it at this point after seeing how disappointing the coming lineups are for someone who wants Hasbro era guys or at least flashbacks in general and not interested at all in the current roster.

I agree. I know the market they are going for is kids and they would want new guys but I still think there should be a flashback wave if they are going with mostly current roster

I do watch Hasbro prices and I think its just the tip of the iceberg. They will rocket. WWF Hasbro figures where the last in line for toys pre internet. They had a huge following and in 1992 it was the toy of the year. WWF/Wrestling was and still is a global phenomena. You will never repeat the original. It just gets people collecting again. The retros have helped. But currently there is no publication, TV broadcastings or mention other than youtube, social media or here. Soon enough it will come to light and the collectors, investors will hit in. They're high prices for a reason, they're rare and people want them. Simples.

Go in instagram. The main problem is these old ass scalpers buying up all they can and selling high. It's rediculous.
I found a guy luckily with a small moc collection. I just got all series 1 fir 25$ each. Finding warrior, akeem, smash,ax Andre for under 125$ is like 1/1000.

I did the majority of the buying for my MOC Hasbros in the late 90s/early 2000s, and from there dipped-in very occasionally whilst at university and such, picking-up a few more here and there that I had long targeted, but the prices right now seem to me a completely different range even accounting for the passing years. It was the Retros that prompted me to check back in with eBay this time, so I can believe that development has had an impact on prices. But from my recent purchases, I actually think prices have gone up even in the last 6 months or so. For example I bought a excellent MOC Bart Gunn back around Easter for £71, which was my most expensive purchase ever at the time but now seems close to the price you’d have to pay for a loose Bart Gunn. Though on the other hand yesterday I took delivery of a MOC Dusty Rhodes in excellent condition, so for the right piece I suppose I’m as bad as anyone. But Dusty is obviously a special case given his status in the line, and given the condition I could justify the price in my own mind since he was my top target going right back to when I was a kid (and I still can't believe I own a MOC Dusty ). But seeing some of the numbers other lesser figures go for, I don’t get it really. Is it just the UK where the prices are so ridiculous? I’ve seen quite a few US listings go for much more reasonable prices. I even bought a MOC Razor 3 (the purple version) and a loose Shawn Michaels 4 (black version) from the US that worked-out cheaper even after the exaggerated postage and the damn customs and Royal Mail’s “handling” fee then what you’d see a UK auction go for in the case of either figure. So is it just the UK that is crazy with the prices we’re paying, or is it across the world as well?

To much “collectors“ who buy figures cheap from eBay/ flea market’s etc. and resell after arriving expensive. Most resellers on Facebook selling figures for ridiculous prices. When you look on eBay for bidding, the same figures didn’t sell for $1 but on Facebook they selling it for $20 and more 🙈🙄 Don’t understand that people why they didn’t look on eBay before they buy it from this dealers 🤔

If people do not pay the huge prices the scalpers are selling for then eventually they could come down in price. I'm currently doing 1-2 a month of the 35 I need, that will take some time but can't afford more than that with current prices

I resell some on ebay too mostly extras I don't need from multi figure lots or if I upgrade something I already have to a nicer or English from forign card. And I also have bought a lot in the past 6 months but luckily I've got just about every MOC I need, settling for a few lower quality cards and most of S3 on Forign cards.
I can understand it from a seller's point of view, if they're buying to make a profit, or just a collector selling off his extras or having buyer's remorse and reselling a collection he just put together. You need to try to re-coup what you've got into it. And after what paypal and ebay take off the top, and after paying to ship, it's hard to make it worth it unless you can get as much as possible.

I sure do miss my Hasbro collection. Had to sell all my MOCs and loose in 2014 due to a financial reason. But, Hasbros are abundant in availability and there's no reason why I can't re-buy and rebuild one at a time. Man, seeing these Retro series figures make me regret letting go of my MOC Hasbros so much. One day !
EDIT: Okay, maybe I was wrong on the "abundant in availability", at least on MOC Hasbros. Been out of actual buying since 2011, and sold my collection in 2014. The ebay availability on MOC Hasbros looks much lower than 2009-2011 when I was actively buying, and yes, higher prices.

I also think availability of loose Hasbros will become way more scarce as time goes on due to lots of collectors customizing their extra figures. There's only so many of one figure out there and when they're gone, they're gone. As more and more people get into the custom stuff, there will be less and less of certain figures to be had, and the prices will sky rocket even higher. My advice is to get what you can while you can because eventually, this stuff will just keep getting harder and pricier to find. Glad I never sold my collection, but I'm having a pisser of a time trying to finish it off.
